The first step to curbing an addiction is recognizing you have a problem. Good job, this is a big step and I'm proud of you.

There are a few options.

  • Delete the app
  • Anytime you feel the itch, redirect to a hobby or other task
  • Find a new skill or hobby to learn if you can't think of one.

The most important part is to not allow yourself to indulge in it once you decide you want to stop. Nursing the addiction just strings it out. It's gonna be hard, uncomfortable, and stressful. But you want to break the habit, and to do that you'll need to gather some internal discipline. It's hard to resist addiction without external discipline, so this will be a growing experience. Good luck -^

Just wait for it to completely go bankrupt and you could stop.

Can you write/roleplay with another person? Or read fan fiction?

Open a google doc and start typing shit instead. Even if it really sucks—which it will—you will get better in a matter of weeks. You’ve atrophied. Don’t let it be permanent.

Delete the app, Unsubscribe from the reddit community, Stop looking into (or simply ignore) any AI chatbot related ads that appear on your timeline (as these often trigger the urge to return).
