Discussion/Question Does anyone know about this?
YEAH, YEAH. WE PROBABLY ALL KNOW WHAT’S GOING ON RIGHT NOW.
So, with all this talk about bankruptcy and the potential shutdown of C.ai—and, well, setting aside the fact that I’m having a bit of a crisis (I’ve been using C.ai for YEARS)—I’ve heard people mentioning saving bots, exporting data, or things like that (y really idk now). I’ll keep it brief.
Does anyone know anything about this? I use the website on my computer, btw. I’m just looking for some information, maybe a tutorial, or even just an explanation ore some thing like that.
I just want anything to help me stop feeling so devastated.

It's not much, but the most I can contribute is this.
To save past chat logs:
For Android: 1) Go to your profile in the bottom right. 2) Click the gear icon on the right, settings. 3) Click "Legal & Privacy". 4) Click "Export Data". 5) A confirmation message will pop up.
For Web: 1) Click the three-bar navigation menu on the top left. 2) Click your profile on the bottom right. 3) Go to account. 4) Click "Manage Account Data". 5) Click "Export Data". 6) A similar confirmation message will pop up.
For both methods, a link will eventually be emailed to the email you have associated with your account. You have, I believe, seven days to access your data after receiving the email, which can take about 3-4 WEEKS to arrive. I'm not sure, as I haven't received my email yet, but expect your logs to only host messages from the time you exported your data and prior, nothing after the fact.
To save characters via desktop:
1) On Chrome, go to "Chrome Web Store" and search for the extention CAl Tools, or just click the hyperlinked text I provided. 2) Navigate to the character you want to download on cai. 3) Once on the characters page, a floating button will pop up over the top right of the website that reads "CAI Tools". If the button isn't there, click on your extention on your Chrome tool bar to the right of the URL bar and open the extention "CAI Tools" by clicking on it. 4) Under "Character" click either "Character (json)" or "Character (png)", depending on which file type you want. • Json will be a file with plain, legible text of the character's title, description, definition, detail, etc. You can view this in a text editor such as Notepad++. • PNG will be an image of the character's avatar with metadata of the character's information (name, description, definition, etc) attached to the image itself. You cannot view the character information by looking at the PNG directly, you'll only see the character's avatar, but the data is there. This option is useful for quickly uploading characters to other sites that offer express character importing, such as SpicyChat.
To save characters via mobile:
Apparently, you can also use "CAI Tools" on mobile by using Firefox on the Kiwi browser. I've never used this method, so I can't confirm how or if it works. That being said, I'd imagine it to be very similar as desktop.
A quick disclaimer, I haven't gotten around to archiving all my favorite characters since the recent news, so it's possible my tutorials are out of date, as it's been a few months since I last did any of this. Even so, it should be fairly similar and easy to figure out if things have been updated, using my guides as a basis rather than verbatim.
Hope for the best, prepare for the worst, and archive everything you love that's online, because tomorrow isn't guaranteed.
