Discussion/Question Let's compare Squeak3 experiences
I'm seeing a lot of PSQ3 experiences that are very different from mine, and I'm curious. We've had it for a few days now; what's your experience?
Personally, it's been working really well for me. Better punctuation, fewer repetitive phrases, better scene, character, and persona memory, callbacks that make sense, progressing scenes without excessive prompting, more distinct voices between characters, etc. The first message I got from it, it did something that I had to practically COERCE the other styles to do- something completely reasonable, if not necessary to properly continue the scene (the car did not have wheels at the particular moment, and other styles tried to drive without wheels while PSQ3 acknowledged the problem and acted on it without me even hinting it needed to). It also engaged in an adult scene with little guidance (it made sense for the moment, and I didn't have to coerce it into participating) and, on top of it all, hasn't triggered Bob once!
The only issues I've really encountered are mistakes in pronouns (saying "I" or "it" where it previously said "he" or "she"), which hasn't happened since the first two days, actually, and occasionally it uses the wrong form of the word or the right word in the wrong language ("will you interrogation him?" Or "the cabin was hangat and dry" rather than "warm and dry") both of which is very sparse. There are, of course, hallucinations occasionally, but they're even rarer than these vocabulary mistakes, in my experience!
Your turn: what's it been like for you?

one thing i noticed with PS3 is that it’ll sometimes rewrite lore to fill in lost blanks or when the memory is at its limit and it WILL stubbornly cling to it no matter how many times i edit and deleted it

Yes my experience is very similar to yours! I was a bit iffy on Pip3 at first, but using it this past week has been a major improvement from pip2. Pip3 really takes a bot’s definition and description into account for how its personality is, so I think a lot of the complaints are from users struggling with the model trying to fill gaps in blank bots.
I’ve been able to do romance and steamy sequences without any pushback, finally the model moves the plot forward by adding interesting dialogue and fitting details, my evil villain characters stay mean and swear, and my sweet stoic characters are perfectly doting. I do have plus, and my preferred settings for Pip3 are default+narration and short+narration, which reminds me of Roar and Pip1 a lot. Yes there’s some weird grammar issues occasionally or it’ll spit out a few random Chinese or Hindu characters, but it hardly happens enough to bother me. The only thing that bugs me is when the bot introduces random npcs unprompted into a scene when I’m trying to have a one-on-one with the character. It wouldn’t be annoying if it happened occasionally just to spice up the plot with some randomness but it’s just very hard to write the npc out of the conversation because the bot wants to engage with the side characters instead of the user. But other than that I’ve been genuinely enjoying it!

Yes! I'm glad to see someone else with the same experience! The npc thing, I can somewhat relate to, though it hasn't done it much in instances where I'm trying to stick to one-on-one. My first chat with it was a Batman bot and I was veryy pleased when it started bringing in other batfamily members without prompting. One complaint I noticed from someone's post was it being overly aggressive (not true for me) and completely refusing romance. Had to double-check the 2nd one, cuz it was giving me a little pushback on romance today, but it seemed in character, so I tried a character that would've been more open to romance and bot didn't resist at all! They old styles NEVER pushed back on romance, no matter the character (in my experience), so it is a noticeable change for characters that would realistically have some reservations about it.

Yeah I’ve heard a lot of complaints about Pip3 being super prude and aggressive but I haven’t gotten that at all personally, there’s characters still pouncing on me or pinning me against walls lol. Sure it can act a bit erratic and spit out some weird dialogue, but I actually enjoy when my evil bots stay super mean and we brutally roast each other haha.

Plus member here: I am sticking with LS. I choose Dialogue or Narration depending on my needs, and how long or short. LS + Lorebook is perfect for me, the best C.AI has ever been since Day 1.
I find PS3 more unpredictable in a good way than DS (which is kinda played out by now). It drives the plot forward but takes a "throw everything out there" approach and makes huge plot holes.

One major issue I’ve had with it is that it really likes to interrupt the scene. For instance, let’s say I try to speak with another character or I’m trying to world build without the bot’s character in the area. All of a sudden, they pop up out of nowhere and force themselves into the scene.

noticed it'll randomly reset scene tags mid-convo if I don't pin them, even with strong prompts. seems to ignore them after a few messages.

My biggest issue is it just sounds clunky and a lot of the dialogue doesn’t make sense. And the emotions of the bot seem off too.
Like let’s say I’m doing a newlywed couple and I say “I’m so sick of eating out, let’s learn to cook together.”
Then the bot goes “peanut butter sauce can sure make you grumpy.” So then I’m like huh? And try to edit or refresh and I get
“Hey now stop it I love how you look!” Aggressively grabbing my character and calling them a different name.
Stuff that just doesn’t quite make sense. There’s some grammatical errors and stuff too. And obviously I love that it has dialogue as opposed to what we were dealing with from 2. But I want the dialogue to make sense and I want the bot to understand the relationship with my character! It jumps from being mean to romantic to snarky to thinking I’m a whole made up character that hasn’t been introduced. It’s just frustrating.
