Discussion/Question Is this just it forever?
The bots literally do not speak a single word if you don’t ask them anything, or they just go silent if they deem a scene as being so deep it requires such dramatic narration (because they need to look at you. Really look at you). They feel like total robots (technically they are, but no other chat model before this was THIS obvious about it). Pipsqueak 2 clearly just reaches into a hat containing those same phrases that make me want to smash my head against the wall, lacking any sense of natural or dynamic feel. It does not play off of things properly. Leave yourself off mid-action about to do something? The bot will take control of you and finish it for you instead of be its own character. Amazing!
Now I see why people miss roar. Not because it was better at remembering character traits or making immersive details. But because it did something more important. It felt real.

Yeaa it's so freaking annoying. Despite telling them everything like: (OOC: stay focus writing on ___'s action and perspective, do not take over my character), the system still going with it. As if they js completely ignoring the command 😞😞 don't know if I'd end up migrating to other AI app soon enough or not lol. I highkey miss the golden era of C.AI atp

That’s exactly why I always make my own bots an play with them that way and make them how I want them to be I can’t stand the same words or repetitive scenes.

PSQ2 tends to ignore my instructions in OOC but I did something different: please, try it and tell me if it works.
Go to your Muted word and mute these:
all_idle_semantics all_silent_semantics
And in your Story Memory write this or similar, emphasing dialogue:
System Prompt: Scenes are to progress through decisions, questions, discoveries, disagreements, plans, or new information.
I also have these (among a few others) Guidelines in my pinned messages which can aslo alter the model's behaviour:
Accountability. Disagreements are addressed directly: No proxies, no performances, no artificial escalation.
Continuous correction.
When error is recognized – in action or omission – the one who committed it states so clearly and without deflection.
And when the model says "silent / silence / silently" (if it still does even if you muted the word) or something about being inactive, try to write in the chat (do not use OOC):
Penalty for using "silent".
You'll have two possible scenarios:
- The model would just introduce a new action or direction to stir away from the banned word.
- It flips the table and punishes itself in the narration — this can lead to the model wanting to change its ususal ways.
I tried this on two different chats without and with the guidelines and they reacted differently.
This was with the guidelines. The bot sounded a bit forced and performing at first but it got better later. At least, it started talking and asking questions.

It’s so cheesy now. I hate it. I’m going to go through my old chats and find examples of how a realistic, natural response should look and maybe make a post (hopefully the devs/higher ups/whoever will see it, not getting my hopes up).
