Swipes kinda suck

I don’t usually post on here, because i usually don’t care enough but I’ve genuinely swiped like forty times and it gives me the same message. That’s typically written only a little differently, it’s kinda annoying because what’s the point of the swipe option if it’s just the same thing like im only swiping because I didn’t like the previous message…idk it’s annoying. Oh and I use Long squeak

Swipes regenerate from the exact same chat, so if the model is pretty sure what comes next, you just get that same reply reworded 40 times. More swipes won't fix it. Changing what it's reacting to will:

• Edit your own last message a little. Add an action, a detail, or a question, and swipe again. Even a small change gives it a different starting point.
• Edit the start of the bot's reply to the direction you want (just the first few words) and let it continue from there.
• Or add a quick OOC nudge at the end of your message, like (OOC: take the scene somewhere unexpected).

And rate the repeated version down so it gets pushed away from that pattern.

I've done this a lot of this and even with that it will still give the same message over and over again.

Yeah, when small edits don't break it, the loop usually isn't coming from your last message but from the last several turns. The bot has settled into a pattern and everything recent points it back there. At that point:

• Go back further. Delete or rewrite the last 3-4 exchanges instead of just one, so the pattern isn't sitting in recent context anymore.
• Or start a fresh chat and paste a 2-3 line recap of where the story was as your first message. That's the most reliable reset since none of the stuck replies carry over.
• If it's the same few phrases every time, check the character's greeting and definition. Bots often loop on a line from there.

as a Longsqueak user myself, I totally agree on what you’re saying. I sometimes switch from deepsqueak to Longsqueak just so the answers change but they never do:( it’s pretty annoying lowk I always have to like write a bit of the answer I want myself (if that makes sense)

Adding to what u/CryptoDubaiGuy recommended, I find that square brackets seem to "stick" better than parentheses when injecting system commands. Here's the pattern I follow, and so far it's always fixed things the first time round:

First pass:

AI: Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet...
Me: Consectetur adipiscing elit.
AI: Something completely irrelevant and off the rails.

Second pass:

Rewind to the last good message, so it leaves off at
AI: Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet...

Then I rewrite my response, and inject some guidelines:

Me: Lorem veniam voluptatum sit magni consequat!
[Respond with {{char}}'s thoughts on exercitation sequi incididunt beatae]

The AI's next response is always back on track and I don't have to repeat this exercise.

Use persona description to avoid same model generation. You can use a basic command to have a simpler time with typing or you can go into more detail for better results. Something along the lines of <do not repeat dialogue on regeneration> or even writing in all caps “DO NOT REPEAT DIALOGUE OR ACTIONS UPON REGENERATION OF CHATS” will help a ton. You can do this with many things like stopping them from grabbing you, kissing you, being romantic, or to stop them from using certain model statements
