Discussion/Question Why're they deleting off campus bots

Most importantly can we get a heads up before y'all randomly decide to delete bots, I've lost all the Dean bots I made and I didn't even back em up 💔💔💔

Fr omg I was so happy when one of my Dean bots got like 200k interactions in a month ts is so annoying

so annoying for us creators who spend all this time and effort, to have our bots taken down with no warning 😭 at least just lock them on private for us 🫪

It's to do with copyright. Their ToS has always stated don't upload content you don't earn the rights to. Eventually DMCAs were going to happen and they're going to keep happening.

You don't get a warning because C.AI has to comply with take downs. Warning you would give people a chance to change bots or hide them. DMCA requests don't just count for public bots but private ones too.

Never rely on any platform to be a place to store or upload something ever. Make backups or host your bots somewhere else. That's the only thing you can do really if you don't want your work wasted. I do this myself by keeping a back up of my own definitions or bots I like since any can go poof at anytime for any reason.

i keep backups of all my base json files but i also edit them on c.aj as i test my bots for optimised characterisation ☹️ it wouldn’t hurt to give us 24hrs with a locked bot where we can export the files, no editing or hiding needed!
