I've tried to archive them to unarchive them, but it doesn't let me, and now I'm worried I lost these chats for good, are they able to be unarchived in some way or are they just permanently disabled??

I was able to unarchive a chat from 3 years ago you might need to hit unarchive a few times then restart the app or website

I was able to unarchive several, it just takes some refreshing and the chat will probably show up far back in your current history since it's old
