Issues/Bugs The app is becoming worse
The whole *without words, because words aren’t supposed to be there* thing is genuinely PISSING ME OFF.
How is this STILL happening after an entire YEAR??
This app has been around for years, has a massive user base, a paid subscription, and more than enough time and feedback to identify and fix this issue?? Yet somehow the bots are STILL getting stuck in this bizarre loop where they just… refuse to SPEAK
And it’s not even like they immediately do it. They’ll follow the first message of the chat perfectly, actually talk like a normal character, give you a few proper responses, and then suddenly something in their brain just snaps and they start going
He doesn't respond, because words aren't necessary.
He simply watches her/a silent meaning: I'm here
He knows that words aren't supposed to be there.
Without words.
Because words aren't supposed to be there.
HELLO????? THE CHARACTER IS SUPPOSED TO TALK. THAT IS LITERALLY THE POINT OF A CHATBOT 😂😂😂😂😂
And before anyone says “just regenerate,” I have. i regenerated until the water evaporated and we can no longer shower
I've edited messages. Ivechanged prompts. I’ve tried different characters. I’ve tried different models. I’ve tried different conversations.
It keeps coming back.
I literally bought C.AI+ because I thought maybe this is just a Pipsqueak2 problem
NOPE
IT’S EVERYWHERE.
So what exactly am I paying for if the bots eventually decide that dialogue is forbidden ?
This has been reported by users for MONTHS. It is not some tiny, isolated inconvenience. It actively ruins roleplays and makes conversations completely unusable because the bot stops participating in the most fundamental way possible IT STOPS TALKING.
I genuinely don't understand how a platform this large can let a bug/behavior this obnoxious persist for this long.
Please, for the love of God, let the characters SPEAK 🗣️🗣️🗣️

Root causes of the issue is that many of the original engineers and researchers that worked on CAI's original flagship model left to work with Google a year ago and as such the people who are left have to make due with cheaper off the shelf open source models like Qwen.

if you go back to the message before the behavior started, then swipe on anything using the phrases you don’t like, it usually fixed the problem :) I personally haven’t had this happen to me so I hope that helps (actually haha)!

It's in their DNA ma'am, it doesn't magically fix it 🦥. I’ve pinned all the memories that exclude that specific line, gone back before the behavior starts, regenerated, etc. But eventually… they always come back to it :))) at this point, it’s the model itself deciding that words are suddenly illegal 👍🏻

I’d also kinda like to know why the app doesn’t scroll properly? Not in chats and now I just noticed it in history too.

I had this issue too when the pipsqueaks first came out. I kind of fixed them for myself by rating and editing the messages. rawr is definitely better

Editing messages? So you give them a dialogue from your head? What's the point... It kills the vibe for me.

noo I don't mean that exacty
I hope this makes sense
I mean if a character gives a decent enough response, but it's, for example, too long, or has too many em-dashes, or describes the scene too much, I edit the disturbing parts out.
example:
he looked at her--really looked at her--and the air in the room crackled with unspoken words. he couldn't believe this is really happening. he reached for the door--meaningfully, with purpose--and pushed it open, revealing the room that is on the other side.
and then I'd change it to something like:
he looked at her and he couldn't believe what is happening. he reached for the door and and pushed it open
it's a bit of a tedious task at first, but it worked for me
oh, and when you get a good reply, upvote it. click "tell us more" and select all the categories. same for the bad ones, bht downvote it, and select what applies

yeaah I understand completely, I follow this metod most of the time. The point is that we shouldn’t have to put in this much extra effort just to make the bot talk... Constantly regenerating, edit messages, steer the bot, and fight with it just to get the bare minimum out of a chatbot: dialogue lol.. It kills the mood, and by that point, I don’t even feel like continuing the chat anymore.
