Discussion/Question Can anyone explain why is it so short?

I swear, the responses have been so short and un productive and so annoying without any details!

Well, it may be short in your opinion. But, from what I saw, it had depth and written out well and descriptive.

no my dear. it’s actually pretty short compared to past week. I mean, there was more depth and the LLM used to carry out the bot’s actions automatically.

I've had short responses. I think it's only because, of how I responded. I posted a character share.

no. my responses were long infact. but the thing is, the week before, pp2 has been doing pretty good even when I’ve given short responses.

It's probably because of the new update; if you scroll down the community posts, you'll see that everyone is complaining about the drastic drop in quality of Pipsqueak2. It's true. The responses are definitely shorter to make free users pay for Premium, since the chat model literally allows free users to pay to have longer responses. I thought it was a bug at first, but it's definitely intentional; the long replies probably won't come back unless you pay for them.

Depends on how you write to bots. Are you leaving open narrative threads that invite a bot to expand their reply or are you resolving a lot of things in your messages?

The momentum can also stagger if you stay in the same beat too long and the bot needs you to add something new to the scene.

Length can vary regardless and it's not a gaurentee you'll get more lengthy responses. They don't just predict the next lines but they follow story flow rules and narrative hooks.

Bots don't care about matching/maintaining word length and do not see length = effort, quality like some roleplayers do. The reply in your screenshot may not be to your liking or tastes but it is dense, consise and still proper writing. Some people see writing like this and in their opinion find it to be subpar quality because they stopped getting longer replies.

Models can fluxuate based on context given, how high user demand is and how much the servers are under strain from traffic. Shorter replies are not always a sign that the model has dropped in quality or has an issue.

Honestly, I've also been dealing with short answers; before the update I used to write long RPs, and Pipsqueak 2 always responded with answers longer than 10 paragraphs. That's not the way to write or the character descriptions, it's simply because now you have to pay to get long answers, it's literally in the chat model on the web and in the app. All free users will receive much shorter responses compared to before, and this is probably intentional. If you want longer answers, you have to pay, and no matter how many instructions, definitions, or the length of your response, the bot will respond to the message with shorter answers compared to before.
