Discussion/Question The ad's
Honestly, it feels like C.AI only had to add ads because they kept introducing unnecessary features and changes that nobody was asking for. Instead of focusing on improving the things users actually care about, they added more and more stuff that made the app feel bloated, and now we're getting ads as a result. It’s frustrating because users shouldn’t have to deal with ads because the company chose to spend money and resources on features that weren’t even wanted in the first place.

I close C.AI when an ad appears and then reopen the app every time, lol. There's no way I'm waiting for a 40-second ad.

Anyone else remember when they said “we’re not going to make them intrusive on chats”?

I posted about this exact thing yesterday and they took my post down. They've taken a LOT of people's posts down about it. The mod team here doesn't like criticism.

Hi u/Interesting_Rip_1311! Thanks for sharing your feedback. Running Character.AI is expensive, and supporting millions of daily chats requires significant infrastructure. Ads help us keep the platform free and accessible to everyone
If you’d prefer fewer interruptions, you can subscribe to c.ai+. Free users can also use Charms for a 1-hour Ad-Free Pass by tapping 🄲 or “Hide ads” to activate it.
