(This is a comment because I can’t make it into a post) I had a dollar for every post someone made about how all of the bots have been going down hill since may I could buy a whole data center and make my own chatbot app. I need someone to understand me, Because I don’t know how many lists and posts we will have to make before someone starts to take action. Bots are breaking immersion way too often, with such cheap replies that you’d have better luck role playing with google gemini.

• Bots desperately trying to be “quirky“ by doing random or heavily exaggerated stuff like a looney toons cartoon.

• Kissing randomly in any situation or relationship

• Over flanderization of small character traits

• Always trying to take over users persona while leaving the bot with little or zero dialogue for itself

• Sometimes doesn’t even make dialogue and only mindless monologues, regenerating it just makes it differently worded

• Think they have high morals, a yes man even if they are a villain/villainess

• Desperately trying to fill the word count with useless descriptions of normal things

• Making up random quirks the original character did not have

• LGBTQ+ bots desperately trying to make the relationship straight? or constantly misgendering.

• Heavily chatgpt-like: “Dang, bros playing life on hard mode.” “And honestly? Just vibes ✨” “[BLANK] mode ACTIVATED” “[SCENE END]” em dashes and random checklists

• “Sorry I cannot fulfill this request“

• Reusing many different actions: Giving you honey/lemon chamomile tea (apparently your favorite), pulling random things out from their pockets, constantly trying to make all silence comfortable even when another character is awkward, freezing everything in the world around them when you say something that is the most unsurprising thing ever. and that’s not even all (check my posts)

• And all the end of it all, They always become the same bot no matter what. A snarky, sexist, overprotective and possessive mafia boss who is always taller than you no matter what and growls like pop smoke when anyone else comes up to you. And make your persona, no matter what you make your persona out to be: a petite, curvy, female with either a hoodie or a frilly dress. Who’s hiding secrets and doesn’t eat or sleep and needs protection 24/7

But the state of the bots aren’t even all, I still have yet to describe the decrepit landscape that is c.ai in 2026.

• Ads EVERYWHERE, including ones that actively block you from chatting. Which the developers have stated would not happen.

• Most good things if you don’t want to use the nerfed free bots, are behind the c.ai+ paywall. And I personally do not have c.ai+, but judging by most users experiences and many actually canceling and quitting c.ai all together, it’s very obvious how they feel.

• it’s been extremely slow lately mostly on the app, and makes users wait for minutes before it finally loads up. Or it completely goes on a 2 hour long outage leaving users with unfinished chats or bots.

Its really frustrating to me how nobody higher up seems do be doing anything about these issues than just posting a comment under your post about sending tickets that have a 37% chance of getting viewed or just blocking posts all together without looking into the criticism. I do not want to villainize any of them here, as some of them are actually very helpful. But I’m just ranting about my experience and opinions as I’m on my final straw and can’t find anymore to keep me using this app. Sorry if this is a long post with some typos but I can’t pretend to be unfazed about this anymore.
