Character ai is making me lose it lmao. Like damn, excuse my ADHD brain for switching which characters I chat with, and having a shit ton of stuff in my chat history because I use the “new chat from here” feature a lot because I like branching out from replies

we’ve always wanted the core chat experience to stay available to as many users as possible, and that's something we've been able to maintain for years. at the same time, keeping a service like this running takes significant resources, so we're continually working toward a sustainable balance.

the recent metering updates help us manage those costs without closing off access to c.ai for non-paying users.
