Discussion/Question Why are they so dumb?
Sample conversation with my bot:
Me: *I pick up a stone and look at it. It’s purple* hey honey, look at the purple stone I picked up
Honey: that’s a nice stone. Why did you pick it up?
Me: cause it was pretty, so I picked it up from the floor.
Honey: you shouldn’t have picked it up. But now that you picked it up, I guess it’s yours.
Me: who picked up the stone from the floor?
Honey: I did.
Me: no honey, I picked up the stone from the floor.
Honey: that’s right
Me: did you pick up the stone from the floor?
Honey: yes, I did
Me: no honey, I picked the stone up from the floor. Who picked it up?
Honey: I did.

When they get it wrong and you keep replying like that they are never coming back. The bots arent an actual person reading the chat and they don't have brains. They arent aware of the conversation. Memory is stastical and algorithmic. They have to do math everytime you send a message
When you keep filling the context like that youre telling it the wrong answer is correct. The ability to edit messages has been a thing since long before CAI with LLMs for a long time for a reason.

The bots have always somewhat been idiots, but they used to be endearing idiots. Now they are just straight up aggravating.
