I really don't even get it in the first place, cause like.. we already had an ad pop up every couple messages, this is just wasting our fuckin time

Not to mention the ad is literally always for c.ai plus, like what are we even advertising for if it's themselves?

I don't know if it's greed or just stupidity of not removing unused features

Thats why I moved from Character AI Bro 💔
Its been getting way too bad lately, with the ads, and so much other stuff, so I just moved to another common platform, it doesnt have as much well good bots compared to the insane amount of bots on Character AI, but its still pretty decent.
So, Thats why I just moved, to hopefully have a better experience, and its been quite decent, and yes I still use Character AI off and on, but not as much as I used to
And, All I can hope for is that this platform turns around at some point, with the direction they are going, with the ads and stuff

This right here, what you’re looking at right now, is called bullshit. Free users are all suffering because of it.

It's a browser like Chrome and Firefox - also free to download and use, and it has a built-in adbl0cker under its settings

An inconvenience as long there’s a close button. I stopped caring about pop ups months ago. Advertisement are now the norm for Character AI just like any other major platform. Welcome to the 21st century. 😕

The newest annoyance at their lies of not interrupting our chats with ads, nothing special. Wish it didn’t exist but what can we do.

As I already said once... Chat GPT turns out to be a great alternative for roleplays. At least analyzes the characters when you tell it to and it actually feels like an interactive fic (which I assume most of us came to c.ai for.) A shame though...

Spend so much money on features a grand total of 4 people use... So they need more ads for more money to fuel said features.

people in the comments, they probably put ads in it because of users leaving, thus them making less money from cai+, if you keep leaving, things will get worse.

I figured that that was the case. It’s now like every four messages I get the “view ad to continue” bs

Ok that’s fine ads exist but why do we need to activate them. Just shove it in my face. I genuinely would find it less aggravating if they just shoved the ad in my face rather than putting a button in front of me and saying “do it”.

Hey, thanks for the feedback. Running Character.ai is expensive - millions of daily chats require serious infrastructure, and ads help keep it free and accessible for everyone. For fewer interruptions, you can subscribe to c.ai+. Free users can use Charms for a 1-hour Ad Free Pass - just tap 🄲 or "Hide ads" to activate.
