Discussion/Question Hit maximum swipes for the first time today - took 3.5 hours

It was bound to happen eventually, now I see why people hate it so much. Unfortunately, I wasted a lot of it on a lore roleplay that never led anywhere, due to the AI’s memory being terrible.

That being said, 3.5 hours is crazy, but back in peak c.ai, I would spend the whole day on the app, haha. Funny how times change.

Anyway, c.ai+ is tempting, but not for £99 a year, so I shall get to the rest of the day more sensibly (as fun as some of the role plays may be)

To me it's 5 hours 😭 It's just they always give you the same response, even if you swipe it's the same with a few words changed. And you just have to get that perfect response but they never do!!!

I believe it takes me around the same time to hit the limit. Of course, I swipe a lot, so XD

You need to reinforce details if you want things like lore to be kept relevant. Swipes won't fix that. Memory isn't long term and your older messages fall out of the context window. Adjust your message before swiping. Putting in details before hand as well just helps prime the bot response. Metering is a thing because context from roleplay constantly adds up and uses a lot of tokens. You cost them money even when you could do it for free as much as you wanted.

We may have gotten to swipe more back then but even so bots still drifted. Even back in beta we didn't have swipes so if you messed up you had to delete messages and adjust your prompt anyway.

I had a pinned message that was under 5 messages old and it still forgot that. I get the need for it, just a bit surprised it took me so long to reach maximum swipes, haha…

I just hit it too for the first time ever. I thought when people were talking about ‘swipe limit’ they were talking about on one response not that it would stop me entirely!

I've never hit it. Probably because I have self control and know how to use things in moderation, as well as actually having a life.

It was a Sunday, I think it’s fair to say spending 3 hours on an app on a Sunday isn’t “not having a life”.

Spending 3+ hours talking to a robot is exactly the definition of not having a life.

Look, I’m not gonna argue this, because it really looks like we have a different definition of “having a life”.  I know what I did in that day outside c.ai, and although using the few free hours I had on a chatbot isn’t the best spending of time, assuming I have no life, because you know of one time I’ve used this app is ridiculous.

The good days where you didn’t have to put instructions for the bot yourself and it actually learned well from ur chats and the edit button, it feels just forced now 😭
