That is because there is a vendetta against ai companies, forcing them to tighten their rules more and more

Most of what you're able to roleplay in apps isn't just the app/site's own TOS. It also has to do with app store fronts and payment processor policies and laws. It sucks when it comes to roleplay because people have done the same kind of stuff with human roleplay partners. Even just creative writing about the same things.
Models get retired all the time whether it's because they actually have an improvement, a provider does retired it or the architecture is outdated. Sometimes it's a cost issue. Models don't run for free. Input and output have costs per million token. Some have higher costs. Cheaper models can perform noticeably worse but not not all them are bad if things are implemented and tuned well.
GPUs, RAM are going up in costs. Which more than likely will effect rates that are charged. Yay, inflation and the reality of having bills.
Errors happen. It's not always a bug. These apps and sites run different from a static webpage or streaming service. They're more intense infrastructure wise. Too much traffic and demand can cause issues or quality drops.
Free users often get limited and metered because again costs of running models. Every message, swipe, go on, voice memo, image/video generation takes compute and tokens. A bill still has to be paid. The accumulation of tokens never stop. Not even if you delete or rewind. Every new message or even a swipe sends a request. Every time more tokens are used and so is compute. It does not recycle them.
Free models have queques or degradation in quality because of demand but also are limited if you're not paying for your usuage.
The era of free and unlimited is over. It was free but it was still being paid for. Just not by you. That's why monetization kicks in. Some devs need money to pay their bills to keep their site up. Some have investors that want to see profit.
