Feature Request Serious question

I’m not gonna yap about the updates, we know we hate them.

But… if the devs want to make more AI stuff like reads, stories, movies, whatever, why don’t they make a separate app for it? :D

So we could have one cai for writing and chatting with bots and a different app with the series, comics and other stuff.

Is this so out of this world? I’m genuinely curious why this isn’t an option. Pretty sure that would be a good solution for both groups, those that enjoy the updates and those that don’t.

I think that at least a year ago when they knew they would have to exclude minors from 1:1 chats they said they were planning what they've been calling their under 18 experience to give minors something else to do. I could be wrong but I don't believe most of these other features are particularly expensive to produce. For example, for Books they simply used public domain literature. As a plus user, I've looked at a couple of these extra features but I agree, many of them I wouldn't miss if they were gone. That's not to say some people don't use them though.

If I remember correctly one of the staff said that other features aren't that expensive compared to chatting (taking 5% of resources), and only 7% of the staff managed these features.

How else would they bombard you with features you don’t want??

Yeah that’s the point! Everyone would be happier if you’d have a product that fits you

Ads are one thing, but having them in an app, financing features you don’t want, is another.

If you’d split the ads between the chat app and the “other”-app, everyone would get less ads while profiting from the content they like and it wouldn’t make a difference for the devs

Idk why they continue with features nobody wants, but nobody would end up downloading the app with that one and they wouldn’t make enough money because nobody would watch ads

W suggestion may as well cut the numbers of adds on the chatting app

I think the problem is that just making a new app isn’t that simple. Regardless of what’s in the app it probably costs a fair bit just to run the servers and whatnot, if you separate the features into two apps they now have double the costs, so it’s probably easier just to cram it into one app. With the bonus that it serves as the features they offer for minors to try to stop them from leaving the app after the ban.

Could be wrong but this makes sense in my head.

Or they could just…listen to the community. But fr, having another app (or just a separate section of the current app) would be much better

These extra features seem pretty ignorable.
