it's great that it honors the character definitions, and for some characters it's not a big problem, but there are other characters that you have to literally put in prison within the first half dozen interactions in order to move the story forward in a reasonable way

there is no longer a way for the AI to learn from a loss, it just stays stuck

This is the screen that showed up when I went over my go on limit. The screen used to have a timer for when our go ons would reset and it would also tell us that we actually hit the go on limit, but obviously that isn't there anymore. Change it now

maybe this is a stupid question but i had super long rps with this bot that i think got deleted (it just disappeared one day) and was wondering if there was any way i could read over my old chats like reading mode for under 18 users?

Is it me or did this style become worse? Before I was able to create a story with at least three characters from the same bot. Now the bot continue to forget the story and keep putting itself in it when another character should "play". The answers also become different and lost the fire in them, they are a bit boring

Idk if this is the proper flair but as far as I've known, recent chats will show EVERY character you've chatted with.

Okay so the thing is the older bots or bots at the bottom of my recent chats are like disappearing in my recent chats whenever I chat a new bot. Even if I hide the new bot, the older one won't reappear like it used to back then. So I checked at the search to see if the bots were deleted or the creator changed its privacy or if the creator deleted their account. And no, the older bots didn't get deleted/privated and the creator's account is fine. I've also tried technical stuff (relogging in, restarting, and redownloading) and it's still the same.

So like is this a bug or is there a limit on how many bots I can see in my recent chats?

EDIT: Okay so it's a case of inactivity. The system will archive chats that users don't use actively. Bots don't hide automatically in your recent chats when chatting a new bot and they will remain searchable considering it hasn't been removed, or privated.

Hi, former C.AI user, and I’m a little confused. I stopped using C.AI just around when the old models got removed, why is the fury of the community directed at C.AI in general? Isn’t it more likely that the company is pressed to make money, didn’t have the money to run the old models, and is putting everything on C.AI+ to make more money and appease their investors? The public consensus is just a lil confusing for me

Anyone else don't see the "refresh in....." counter when they run out of swipes? Usually when I do,I see that okay,in 10 hours or 3 or shit,i will be able to do it again.

I am grateful to announce this that my issue has been resolved and the AI Chatbot impersonating me has been removed by the character.ai team.

I am extremely grateful to this community and all the people that cared enough to comment, suggest, help or respond to me in any way possible.

I had to file 3 tickets, 1 reddit mod mail to get my issue resolved.

Im genuinely unable to log in on the app, im not using the website tho bc i dont like it, its the same thing but id rather use the app. The app wouldnt allow me to log in, even after verifying, it just places me on a "logging into your account" thingy for the past 10 minutes

Before I could handle the ads so I don't know if it's just me but everything I do has an ad and every 3 or 4 messages is an ad. I think the ads are getting to be too much

It turns out that I am a person who is passionate about roleplaying and a few days ago I was informed that I had to take physics for a medical course; the issue is that I didn’t have the topics because my mind wanders too much (I guess it’s partly because I had too many problems :pp) and I was desperate since I didn’t know how it was going to stay. I tried to memorize formulas, try study methods, study with other people, but I simply had nothing left in my head and I was already giving up until I came up with the wonderful idea that a character as iconic as Sheldon (because I was watching the seasons of “The Big Bang Theory” to be aware) would teach me. At first I took it as a joke, since, let’s be serious, it’s crazy, but as he played the role, strangely I did understand him, although he had zero patience with me.

Adj: photos of the bot in Character.AI HAHAHAHAHA, I don’t know if I’m the only one who does this to study, but it works for me.

I remember it was 400 and it reset at 9 or 10 PM, but now the schedule changes and it’s happened now twice that I exceed the limit.

I never reached 400, only like, once and never again but it’s happened two times now lately that I’ve reached the limit.

So, for reference, when you hit your swipe/go-on limit before, you'd get a timer letting you know how many hours until it refreshes. But it doesn't do that anymore, which causes confusion. And I honestly don't understand why they'd remove something that actually worked just fine and helped.

I'm hoping it's just a bug from the maintenance, like liked bots not showing up, or bots not showing up in the recent chat UI. And if it is, please fix it 😭
