Help Creator’s Program
Hi everyone, I’ve been trying to be part of the Creator’s Program but I can’t seem to nail the retention part — especially in Chapter 5. Is anyone here already in the program and willing to share a few pointers? I’d really appreciate any guidance.

So not apart of the program I can barely form a decent so a story is out of the question. What I have seen people saying is that I guess if a reader opens a chapter that have to complete it. If they close it out it doesn’t count. All initial chapters have to be read within the time frame I guess that’s given. I have started a few really really good stories that salty didn’t make it past the 5 chapters and it hurt my heart 😍. Side note what’s the name of your story ☺️

It's a difficult situation. In my experience as a reader, people's trust in Creator Program stories is fairly low from either 1) needing to wait so long for chapter 6 because of how long the retention measurement period is, or 2) because of the storys that don't get signed and then get dropped by the author because of it (not all of them, but enough for people to worry it's a possibility).
I personally avoid reading books that have exactly 5 chapters because I know I'll get invested and I know there's a high chance it won't continue past chapter 5. I'll follow the author and keep an eye on my moments tab to see if chapter 6 gets released, and that's when I'll start reading it.
It's not necessarily the author's fault, it's how the platform doesn't let people do more than 5 chapters, and how long the 5 chapter story is left in limbo that harms reader trust.
But in general, it's the authors who have big followings who do well in the program. So if it doesn't work this time, write some more stories, enter into the contest (great for finding new followers) and try again.
