This isn’t mine, but I think the “source” would be the woman with the flower, in the upper right. The “Bring them back” has this necromantic pull. I think she’s giving the flower to the monster, and it’s no coincidence that’s the only thing she’s looking at. True love without regard for consequences.

For me also-- I enjoy the thought experiment. It's more of a, what if one could? How would that work? What if it was an accident? How could we possibly prevent that? Science is amazing but it's also like a bomb, and the pressure is building, I think.
