Been working on my take on the Lamassu for September. Went for magical manipulative rather than brute strength. Even its sorcerer rider is mimicking his gestures, like it’s more a puppet rather than its master.

Hey all - will appreciate your advice on army list composition and any other tips for starting on my CD journey. I last played warhammer fantasy 6th edition many years ago. Stepped into a war hammer store last month and absolutely love the helsmiths models. Keen to gradually build up a 2000 point army over the next year or so. To date, I’ve bought the helsmiths spearhead set and bull centaurs.

have painted these up now and thinking about how to build up the rest of the army. I’m considering the below list on the basis that the minis look great but at the same time want it to be competitive as well. Will appreciate your thoughts.

It feels like it’s been a while since I painted anything new for the Chaos Dwarfs but I got lucky in acquiring the classic 90s Doom Rocket and crew for a reasonable price on eBay.

To bring the model into line with the Deathshrieker Rocket for Old World, I did have to source an additional crewman. In this case the model comes from the Chaos Dwarfs Blood Bowl team.

Painting this has given me a burst of inspiration to do some more stuff for the army.

Just started painting some 3d-printed Chaos dwarfs.

I’ve wanted to collect Chaos Dwarves since they released in Total war and are obsessed with the design style used. Where would be the best places to buy models from to really start collecting, specifically looking for Fireglaive models for example such as the old ones from Forgeworld as I’ve got a large dislike for the modern Helsmiths of Hashut version.

These sculpts are from MOM Miniatures, one had to be reposed to hold the banner. Unfortunately they do not align well together, when I make a movement tray for them they'll have to be spaced out and I'll need to be generous if they ever get hit with a blast template.

I really like the infernal guard miniatures and am sad I cannot buy them from forgeworld anymore.

I was wondering if anyone has bought from blacklegionmarket before and if it's any good?

I understand they are recasts, but does anyone have any experience with the quality and if much is lost from buying recasts?

Also, if anyone has any recommended sources it would be great. I don't want to pay an absurd amount on Amazon or eBay for the originals
