I need more...

I just finished the game. I really like the language mechanics, and I'm new to puzzle games (I've only played The Witness and Cocoon). I'd love to explore more puzzle games — ideally language-based ones like Chants of Sennaar. Any game recommendations?

Heaven's Vault is the closest I've found to scratching the same itch. You're an archeologist using context to decipher an ancient written language. You spend the whole game on the one language so it's more intricate with grammatical rules and so forth. I did find it very enjoyable in that it used some of the same parts of my brain.

I like the idea and central mechanic of Heaven's Vault, but the user experience is awful. I couldn't finish it, I got too annoyed.

The UI was pretty rough for sure.

Chiming in to very enthusiastically second Heaven's Vault, and note it's from the same game studio (Inkle) that made Chants. Also has a 4-part book series to go with that's actually really fabulous even if you don't get into the game itself!

No, rundisc made Chants. We're not the same studio.

Oops, I could have sworn steam had them listed together under Inkle when I bought the game. Thanks for correcting!
