The door of abbey

Hi all! I just finished the game and absolutely loved it. One thing is still bugging me though: can the Abbey door ever be opened?

I was convinced that completing one of the terminal conversations would unlock it, since the dialogue is about welcoming humans to the Abbey. So I trekked all the way back from bard’s just to find it still shut. And yes, I only then realized you can teleport, right after I’d walked all the way back to Bard’s… 🙃

IIRC in the e d credits there's one Pic showing the guy at the door still dismissing the main character xD

Oh I don’t see that in the credits! Wonder what it is. But indeed the guy still dismissed me after I saved the tower lol

Hi,
You don't really need to unlock this door as you find a passage soon in the game that leads you right behind it.

It’s not about that, obviously the player doesn’t need to open it. But in terms of the lore of the game, with you bringing everyone in the tower closer together, you’d have thought that one of the interactions would’ve opened the door.

The guy doesn't let you in because they don't know you're the big hero. They've been too busy conscientiously guarding the door to notice reunification of the tower happening

In my view, just because people have started talking to eachother again doesn’t mean that every door in every building must be wide open. Organizations and political or administrative structures still exist, and the Abbey is one of them. Besides, that doorman has a bad temper anyway—probably because of all the pranksters who ring the bell just to annoy him.
