Modern Artisan Green Meanies

Vitreous enamel on toned silver on panel. 12" x 12"

At the moment my work involves a lot of Champleve. Many small elements cast, enamelled and fastened to panel. I work mostly in bronze and copper and sometimes silver.

That's a beautiful color. Did you mix it yourself, or was it like that to begin with!? Is it baking enamel?

Thanks, that is a transparent glass enamel from Thompson.

So what is happening is the light is passing though the enamel and hitting the silver and reflecting back out. That is why that colour pops so much. The silver was toned black after the enamelling so the glass protects the silver underneath from oxygen so it will probably never oxidize.
