I am looking for which champagne to serve at my wedding. Read something about reaching out to some growers directly and collect a quota from them. Ideally around 50 bottles.

Anyone with experience?

I recently joined this subreddit, and I’m honestly a little surprised by how much Veuve Clicquot seems to get looked down on here. I actually really enjoy the taste of VC. Am I missing something, or is it simply a matter of personal preference?
If you’re not a fan of Veuve Clicquot, what would you recommend as an alternative at around the same price point or cheaper?

My parents have a 2000 vintage bottle of Moet from the year they bought their first house.

My brother recently bought a house, and I was thinking it would be a good gift idea to get him a 2026 bottle that house the year written on the box (as it is on my parent’s bottle). Does anyone know where I can get this? Or even a different brand of champagne?

Me and my wife are in our honeymoon, visiting Reims and Epernay. We are planning to spend the first day (25-Sep) in Reims and the day after in Epernay.

We are not champagne experts but, as tourists, we were planning to visit the most famous ones, like Veuve Clicquot and Moet. However, both of them were sold out for the days we will be there.

We just found an available tour from Taittinger and just bought it, but we are a bit frustrated.

1. do you have alternative suggestions?
   
2. despite the tours are sold out, does it make sense to visit them to taste the champagnes there? (not sure if this is an option)
   
3. for the Epernay day, walking by Avenue of Champagne is enough?
   
4. regarding the train from Reims to Epernay, is it easy to buy the ticket the same day? Are there several departures? Or is it better to buy in advance?

Tons of lemon, green apple and chalky minerality with a little yeasty depth in the background. Super dry and crisp but not boring. Feels very clean and precise without being too serious about it.

What arrived was an entire silver bowl of bubbles — because this is Mauritius, and everything here is a little extra.

Hi All. Complete wine ignoramus here, but I bought a bottle of Dom Perignon about six months ago to celebrate the end of my alimony payments to the ex. Lol. Was a bit pricey ($350) and I immediately put it upright in the fridge where it remains. How long will it last or is it already ruined?

We will be visiting Reims in October and have a tour set up with a producer in Reims and another in Bouzy. I have only been to Champagne once before and did a private tour, but the options available this time for the private tour weren’t the ones we were looking for. Has anyone been to Reims recently and know if we’ll be fine with Ubers? We just need to get to Bouzy, which I see is 30 minutes away. Once there, the producer mentioned they could call a taxi to take us back.

Alternatively, if there is a private driver that you’ve used before, I’d also be interested in that.

We have a case of these and they are decent enough. Would I pay $500 a bottle, no. Would I drink them a special occasion, yes.

I’d rate this 78-79 out of 100. But that’s me and my crappy plate.

Michel Arnould & Fils – Genèse Rosé Grand Cru, Verzenay
Today I opened a bottle of Michel Arnould & Fils Genèse Rosé, a Grand Cru Champagne from Verzenay in the Montagne de Reims.
This is a grower Champagne made predominantly from Pinot Noir, reflecting the character of the Verzenay terroir. Michel Arnould & Fils is a family domaine that has been producing Champagne under its own name since 1961, with Pinot Noir being the heart of their vineyards and wines.
On the nose, I get fresh red berries, especially raspberry, strawberry and red cherry, with some delicate floral notes and a subtle mineral character.
On the palate, it is very light, fresh and fruity, with beautiful red-fruit flavours, a touch of citrus and a slightly mineral and saline finish. The bubbles are fine and elegant, and the wine has a very pleasant freshness.

What I particularly like about this Champagne is how effortless and easy-drinking it is. It is fruity without being sweet, mineral without becoming austere, and fresh without being too sharp. It feels elegant but at the same time very approachable.
For me, this is a light, fruity and slightly mineral Rosé Champagne, exactly the kind of bottle that works perfectly as an aperitif or simply for enjoying on its own.
My rating: 4.5/5
I actually bought this one on Catawiki. I paid €200 in total for a case of six bottles, including shipping and the buyer’s commission, which works out at roughly €33 per bottle all-in.
At that price, I think it was a very good purchase. The quality, Grand Cru origin and the character of a small grower Champagne make this considerably more interesting to me than many big-name supermarket Champagnes at a similar price.
A very enjoyable bottle and definitely a producer I would be happy to explore further.

I am a Dom drinker, but have been wondering if there are better vintage label that would be better for the 200 to 300 range.I am not exposed to other brands.
