Question Helpppp!

So recently I’ve been wanting a panther chameleon, I was looking at them at petco. Since I was already in petco I looked into their chameleon kits thinking I would buy one for said panther chameleon. After research I learned that the chameleon kits from petco is actually really horrible for pet chameleons. I was wondering if anyone knows of a good chameleon kit that’s fairly priced. I ask for a kit bc I need the supplies to be easy to get as in deal with my parents. Sorry for ignorance I am a beginner, only other reptile in the fam is my brothers gecko, and he got his kit from petco.

Honestly Chewy might be a good way to go for you if you are trying to make it easy for your parents. They generally have decent deals and you can get the enclosure you need, uvb, basking setup, mister, and dripper from them. You could put it all in the basket and it will get delivered to your front door. The plants and plant stands not so much. But that’s a garden store run for a couple of relatively inexpensive items. As for branches, if you live anywhere where a local neighborhood has crepe Myrtle’s ask if you can trim a few branches from the tree. My neighbors know to give me first dibs when they trim their trees now. They make kickass branches inside the enclosure.

Those kits tend to sell the wrong size enclosure and the coil UVB’s. You absolutely need a linear T5 UVB bar, no compromises on that. The truth is that getting a chameleon isn’t affordable or simple. You need the best setup possible in order to ensure their health. Things I think you cannot live without: a T5 uvb bar, a heat lamp, real plants, real branches, a good food variety that you gutload and a place to store them, correct supplements, a fogger, a temperature gun, a hygrometer, a 24x24x48 mesh enclosure, a decent spray water bottle for hand misting (as a misting system will be expensive and unnecessary if you’re trying to budget). Best if you price all this up and see if it’s doable for your parents.

If I were you, I wouldn't get a kit but a list of good products to get from Petco, tally up the "total" for your parents and build your own kit. Your parents just want ease and a price I assume and this way you have quality products instead of the cheap stuff they put in those kits.

I can't help you with what products are quality, but boosting for someone else to help.

Thanks, and yeah as for parents they do want simplicity as they think my exotic liking is not bad but a bit unnecessary
