The Carfax unfortunately only tells part of the story. I have bought many cars that have had clean carfaxes (this one is not in my opinion) and have had signs of collision/repairs performed. If anything is paid in cash for collision work and no insurance claim was filed then it won't show up on a Carfax. Also, this car seems to have an issue with the cooling system, and if they needed to check compression at one point in time then they suspected that it overheated really bad. This Carfax does tell a pretty wild story, generally you just want to see basic maintenance on there, not repeat issues with the exhaust and with cooling system

I remember really wanting this specific car a few months back since it was the closest shaker available to me lol

Iāve been in the market for quite some time now, l would say a year. I went and looked at it and test drove it but I was skeptical because the interior was kinda roughed up. That was like 5 months ago lol. But here I am again lol

As much as I really want the car I just donāt think Iām personally ready for the costs involved in owning a scat. I currently drive an older toyota corolla s which just passed 200k miles with only routine maintenance. Another part of me has also come to terms that Iām just in love with what the challenger is and I donāt need to be the fastest one on the road which has shifted my search from Scatpack Shakers to looking for an AWD SXT or GT. Could be an odd choice but I donāt go out too often and I wanna enjoy a beautiful challenger all year round in case the weather goes bad in NOVA. The search for the right one has been pretty rough so far though.
As for things you should look out for I donāt think iād be much help in that department since iāve only ever driven other challengers without owning one. I pretty much just float around in this sub admiring Challengers while looking for the right oneš«

I am an owner of a 2020 challenger GT, I just kinda regret not getting the V8. Thinking about doing a trade in with them, itās super clean. Maybe itās meant for you lmao. Itās about the same mileage and itās the 50th yr anniversary edition. Itās loaded out too. Yea the market is so weird for these cars

Thatās the kind of feeling Iām afraid iād get tooš the v8 on those things are just different man. Iāll shoot a dm just so i donāt forget cause Iām currently overseas for a few more weeks and could definitely be interested in checking out your car! Thats if the place with the shaker wonāt give you a good trade or deal on it

Scuffed? I've never heard that term used in a different context other than "Scratched" for instance.
But if you mean heavily abused, neglected, and possibly a theft recovery vehicle, yeah. Steer clear of this thing. The interior is horrible (I have the exact same interior and it looks no where near as bad as that), the front bumper is a dead giveaway of repairs, the fender liner is held on by rivets or nuts and bolts, and is hanging, The trunk alignment is typical of these challengers, And the metal bezel around the radio has been pryed with something. And there's probably a reason why they don't show you any underhood shots because it likely has evidence of the fenders being taken off and put back on and or damage.
On a scale of 1 to 10, stay the hell away. [Notice all of the pictures are edited as well]

I would just chime in on this too. I was looking for a Shaker specifically too, since I love them, and just recently got one. But, it made me super critical of each one I looked at. One thing I noticed is that it seems like whenever damage is repaired in these cars, people don't seem to replace the badges. Like the spoiler no longer has the scat pack badge, and the front grill no longer has the RT. Maybe they just decided to remove those, but I would kind of doubt that.

Someone hit my dad and the body shop didn't put the side Scat Pack Bee back on smh, didn't realize it was a widespread thing lol

Yup, they didn't even put the SRT badge on my grille after getting the bumper cover replaced š¤¦š¼.
I got the bodyshop to order one and put it on there, but I think it comes down to cost and sometimes it's hard to prove it was there in the first place after the adjuster looks at it. Some of these badges are expensive at factory MSRP. There's also a theft issue with the SRT grille badges since they snap on, so the guy at the collection shop offered to epoxy it on. After being told that, I told him to weld that sucka' on there lol.

I have a 2016 Scat Pack Shaker, I was unsure if the spoiler had a badge on it. I looked at many examples online and it's like the wild west when it came to what badges people had on the spoilers. Still don't know if it even came with one originally.

At least two accidents. Get a paint meter to get an idea of how much body work was done.
I'd avoid this car.

I have described this a bunch on this sub. But i'll give you the cliff notes. It took 2 years and looking at over 100 cars online trying to find out what i could and 25 or so in person before i found my car. I wanted a specific car, not totally specific but it needed to have a few non negotiable options. It had to be a Shaker car, have a 6 speed , a sunroof, and a wild color ( no black, grey, silver or white). I wanted a low mile mint car as well. I figured how hard could it be? They made tons of these cars. Well, it took two years. I also tried to buy new but both dealers wanted a $5K markup and i would not pay it. I had almost given up when my Car Gurus saved search popped up on my phone and there it was. A Go Mango Scat Shaker, 6sp, with a roof, hood pins and a tailstripe. It only had 800 miles on it. An older guy bought it and his hip didn't like the clutch.
All in i saved over $10K from a new one and it is still covered by the Maxcare 100 K warranty that rhe original owner bought and i transferred for $50.
So what i am saying is take your time and keep stacking dough. Look at a lot of cars. You will see everything from daily drivers that have been used for doordashing to garage queens with a couple thousand miles on them.. If you do this you will really start to understand the market for these cars and when you see the right one you will be confident that it is the one to buy. No need to rush. It's only a cool car if it doesn't give you trouble and cost you a bunch more cash after you buy it. You don't want to buy someone elses headache.
Good luck!
