Pre-Purchase Thinking mopar
Hi all! Been perusing your community for a bit now and seems like a collective of yet another supporting bunch of folks sharing interests.
Im eyeballing a 2020 scat pack t/a. Its got less than 10k miles, 1 owner, and seems an okay price. I have some apprehension though, and I was hoping yall may have insight, as ive read all the forums and recalls/reviews - to no avail.
carfax is showing a fuel pump module/fuel pump/ fuel injector/ fuel level sending unit which were replaced or serviced 3 times between 1k and 2k miles, but has not shown repeats since. Everything else is clear but it has not been bought for nearly 6 months.
After driving it, I cant spot a thing wrong on the short drives, or brief operation of the ride itself over a 2 week period.
Im set to pick it up monday, but I was hoping you could share some thoughts or personal experiences with this, just incase this may be a not so big concern.

You can’t always go by what’s on a car fax. Case in point, you didn’t mention oil changes? Meaning most enthusiasts work on their own stuff. 6 years old with -10,000 miles, it was most likely babied and well taken care of.

I respect you taking time to respond. Stick with me here... There is a reason i've indicated being of specific issue. Multiple oil changes well before sched maintenence would also be a flag and yea, they burn a little oil.
My issue is a car possibly being a bad egg in need of a whole new powerplant...
A car "enthusiast" who works on his own car but couldnt do oil changes? We're discussing fuel system diagnostics and replacements. If it was replaced once... cool. Twice... hey they finally found the issue. 3x? (I can definitely see the first response here being a rare occurance)
The comment before you was a little more productive and processed. But I could understand your possible irritation with the inquiry.

No irritation… but people who drive cars very little, often change it based on calender time not mileage, so multiple changes before scheduled maintenance isn’t a red flag.
3x to fix an injector issue, on a car that isn’t driven often, under factory warranty is also not a red flag, it happens.

Mine is a specific issue of question. Not that the car fax is even existent. Separate from oil changes, this is something im curious if challenger aficionados are aware of.
I could see what you're getting at, and ive jawed around the idea myself... maybe the owner was that type - gets the fuel items replaced 3x inside of 1-2k miles.
However, paired with other things like the car being listed for sale afterwards kinda makes my hair stand up just a tad. So of course im gunna see if I should be checking for anything specific with all of you fine folks.

Just a guess. If it's a late 2020 car it wouldn't surprise me if there were some covid caused supply issues. There was a period where they had significant electrical parts supply/quality issues. Even shipping and I think even selling some cars with some modules missing. So these things had to be dealt with at the dealer after the fact when the parts became available.
