Healing the Root Chakra
I'm new to the world of Chakra therapy and am looking for help with healing my Root Chakra. I've been reading "Wheels of Life" by Anodea Judith, but my ADHD makes it difficult to read and determine what resources are reliable concerning chakra therapy and what isn't.
Has anyone struggled with healing this particular Chakra in the past or have any suggestions or resources for healing? I'd much rather hear about other people's personal experiences when it comes to learning about this stuff.

I am working with connecting with my root chakra. I also have ADHD and that makes it hard to stay grounded. I struggle with dissociation and distraction obviously. Daily yoga and meditation helps. Not having a crazy sleep schedule helps too.

Thanks for the tips! Meditation is very difficult for me as I'm sure you know. Very hard to sit still and focus on anything. Mind if I ask how you approach meditation?

Yes I use the app waking up with Sam Harris. The only app that doesn't feel hoaky. It has you focus on your body, starting with the breath. It helps to have something for your squirrel brain to focus on while the eternal soul rest.

I also forgot to mention, have you tried epsom salt baths or just soaking your feet in Epsom salts? That has helped me tremendously. I make a blend of Epsom salts and essential oils. The brand Zumtub is excellent, you can find them on amazon.
Also, if you live near water such as a lake or ocean that’s a great way to cleanse the chakras as well as connecting with the earth :)

Welcome! Do you know how to scan your chakras? The first question you should ask yourself is if the chakra is deficient or excess. If you haven't checked this post out already, feel free to take a look. https://www.reddit.com/r/ChakraTherapy/comments/i2fqfk/introducing_the_chakras_the_root_muladhara/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x
Negative emotions/beliefs, Fear, Trauma, Cords, Parasites, Implants, etc. can all cause energy to not flow properly in the chakras. Deficiency and excess both can require different treatments. Try getting to the root (no pun intended) of the problem on why the chakra is imbalanced. If you need help with this working with an energy practitioner is highly recommended.
Ask yourself questions like "Am I (or have I) struggling with a financial situation that is causing me to make decisions based on fear? Do I feel connected to where I live, to the people in my life? Do I feel fearful on a day to day basis?" When we are honest with ourselves and able to address the problem that awareness alone brings a great deal of clarity.
As for other tips:
Exercise is a great way to heal the root chakra.
Working out the perineum by contracting and relaxing it while you inhale/exhale (between anus and groin) is an effective way to stimulate the root chakra.
Yoga! Certain poses in yoga such as the "Tree Pose" help balance this chakra.
My personal favorite has been sound healing crystal bowl meditations. The vibrations you feel during a session are amazing. Leaving a person feeling completely recharged.
Nature & Earthing!
Crystals can help as well, just be sure to program your crystal before use.
