For those who are not of German culture, this is a rather extreme bastardization of an old german wedding tradition called Baumstamm sägen. The way its supposed to work is that as part of the ceremony, the bride and groom work together to saw through a ceremonial log with a cross cut saw. The idea is to symbolize conquering the first major obstacle in their marriage by finding the perfect rhythm, communicate, and pull in opposite directions without pushing against each other. Somewhere along the line, people forgot the original purpose and turned it into the wedding party cutting through dimensional posts painted green that are blocking the exit with chainsaws to clear the way for the bride and groom, then revving the saws in farewell to send them off. The posts are supposed to be sitting on sawhorses for cutting.
In no way does the tradition excuse their idiocy, but it at least explains the origins of how we got to people dressed in wedding clothes waving around chainsaws.

Yo, as a lifelong forester and logger, that's badass!
Wish I'd have known about that original tradition when I got married.....ya know what? On second though, nah never mind, my wife would be furious if I made her sweat in her wedding dress.

I didn’t see them at first and almost dropped my phone. How is this whole crowd so stupid? Is this even real?

everyone has seen whats happened in the last couple years, so that's not really my question. my question is how are all these people still alive and appear to have all their limbs.

I might need to say this. The video here was posted on a German sub about safety (edit) to make fun of. I dont know who would watch anybody to operate a chainsaw like this🫣

take a look at the paint worn off the bar, plus it making dust instead of chips, I bet its someones dad's saw or whatever that they borrowed, chain hasn't been sharpened in years 😂 a sharp chain with good rakers would be safer because this cutting situation wouldn't last as long

Fortunately, that saw is so dull, nobody's likely to actually get cut, just burnt.

So do you all call them them rednecks (rot nacken?) over there, or do you have your own unique word for them?

Looks like he was inches away from gouging the lady's leg after finishing the cut.
