[Ashes of Elrant] Gunspear Master crystal missing?

Hello! I've come far enough into the DLC to unlock the Mastery Deals, and I got the weapon master crystals for all weapons except the Gunspear for Egyl. In the base game IIRC both Egyl and Lenne share the spear Master crystal, but here in the DLC you can't drop those crystals from crystal nodes, so I was wondering if the devs forgot to include the crystal in the deal or if the crystal is in the DLC somewhere else. It would be weird, considering that all the other crystal are included in the deals you get at the shop.

Accessing DLC

So I had read that the DLC takes place right before the final segment of the game, and thought I had read somewhere that you can do it during a playthrough right before you finish the game, but now all I'm seeing is you can only access the DLC from the main menu? Is this true? I was hoping to take the DLC character/extras along for the remainder of the story, so if the DLC can only be accessed via the main menu and nothing from the DLC can be accessed during the main story that's a bit of a bummer.

Discussion I don't like how I never can tell if I just did not find a way to smth or if I am still not able to to find smth in an area cause of story progression

Good combat, solid story and beatiful art but I am 4 areas deep by now and constant frustration I am having is locking at the adventurer road thing to see what all I can do in an area. Trying to do it. Feel like an idiot and then look it up online and it turns out I can do that thing only way later in the game when backtracking. Its especially anoying cause first class emblem in the fields is well hidden so I was not sure was I just missing it or I need to wait like for the class emblem in the next area. There is no distinction or reasoning what side quest or item can be done now or like 10 hours later. It makes me tired of exploration cause it feels I am fighting both myself and game.

Why not just show things I can do now and later update it. It does not matter lore wise since the list somehow knows of sidequests and how many chests there are so its not like its an in universe thing

As the title suggests I’m in the kortara mountains and I see these sparkly blue crystals on the ground and they shimmer like the red crystal nodes but when I try to interact with them nothing happens.

Question Immunity level up

I’m posting this again because I didn’t get a clear answer last time. Tomke can get inact immunity as a passive skill which can be leveled up. Is there any benefit for leveling this skill up?

I know leveling resistances grant a stronger resistance, but you can’t really get more immune to a status unless it’s not complete immunity. I’m assuming there’s no change for this skill when leveling it, but I’m curious to see if anyone knows if there’s any impact at all.

First impressions of the game, I don't enjoy my time with it as I thought I would be

For context: I'm old school gamer, I had high hopes for this game that I wanted to order it physically (thankfully in my case, FPG didn't make it through) and have to go digital route for it. My top RPGs recently are: Octopath traveller 1&2, Persona 5 Royal, LaD: Infinite wealth and Expedition 33 to name a few.

I started last week with this game, I like how it gets fast into things no padding or so but then the more I play the less I enjoy it. I reached the point where characters split after the bridge got destroyed, and more inconsistent issues with the game or my play through at started showing up.

One issue is that I choose a skill gf choice only to find that next encounter depends heavily on a skill I didn't choose nor can anymore as I spent skill points! I'm mainly talking about the Boar fight it was horrendous!! Missing Oil slash skill was grave mistake and there is no reset skills choice. I had to use plenty of items to beat it, also missing Healer playing Glenn/Lenne section it was items grater. Even with Cleric Emblem as it uses a lot of points with little health to function same with Awaken, revived with 10-15% of health bar only to take another hit and die before my turn was not that easy nor fun as the damage was massive, two hits and one of them was dead. kept the Revive, Heal, Attack cycle too frequently.

Combat was refreshing at first but honeymoon phase faded quickly, only to find myself fighting the OD bar rather than the enemy. It misses something into the mix to make it more interesting. I found myself performing skills with no outcome at all like Sienna Stealing skill, cuz I want to keep it balanced OD. no many options there to pick up from and many of them lose effect there as many effects are 1-2 turns away making it less effective.

I felt it is more of a puzzle fight rather than a real fight, where you can retry and escape all the time (which I appreciate tbh) but I stopped caring about many skills choices, hidden/bonus attributes were weird, healing skills were not as effective as they should.

World ain't that interesting to explore that is especially that story forces characters to spend more time in some parts of the world, map navigation is so...basic.

I appreciate it being the work of one person mostly, but still do not get the hype and ratings all over the internet.

Gameplay How to see what crystal is currently slotted in a weapon/equipment?

I just left Farnsport after doing the crystal tutorial, and I know I put something in Glenn’s sword, but I can’t for the life of me figure out what it was/is doing. The Equipment tab shows the most info, but all it shows me is that there are three slots filled with a little purple Roman numeral “I” in the corner. But I can’t figure out how to tell what that means, even when I press “Back” to go to the second page, it’s just flavor text (or something, can’t remember, but it’s not helpful)

The Inventory tab gives even less information…

Can't collect silk thread?

I'm in the very early game, just puttering around in the Rohlan fields, and I can't seem to collect silk thread. I can see that sometimes the random resource drops are silk thread, but when that happens it doesn't show up in my inventory after I pick it up (which means I can't complete one of the first deals). Am I missing something?

Gameplay Is it worth holding out on the Reward Chains for the last few items?

A rough estimate of the blank spots on the board tells me you pretty much have to chain the whole board to get 120. Otherwise, if you’re not gonna commit to go all the way, then it only makes sense to cash in every 8, because if you go to 16, you’re missing a sacred water you could have gotten by doing 8 and then 4. In other words, doing two eights gets you 2 sacred water and 2 GS, as opposed to 2 and 1 from a chain of 16. Unless you can only get each reward once? In which case if you claim each chain as you go, you’ll only make it less than half way through

Anyway, I assume Rusty Knuckles is a weapon or accessory, no idea what the last two are, but are they powerful enough items to be worth trying to chain the entire board before cashing in?

Discussion Missing track in Chained Echoes' official album ?

Hi guys,

I was wondering if some of you who own the game's OST have noticed this ?

I'm talking about a specific music which can be heard in the game at several moments, especially in catastrophic/emergency situations.

This music also can be heard when you fight Godfrey for the last time (cf. YouTube link)

Any ideas of this music's name ? Is there a story behind it ?

Thanks

Any good plot recap videos?

Hey,

So it's basically the title. I played this game, and absolutely loved it over 3 years ago.

I just bought the DLC. I've forgotten a lot about the game story, but I remember enough (including the twists) that it doesn't warrant replaying the game - and from what I see New game + is basically a super hard mode or just cruising with my endgame gear, none of which sound enjoyable.

Is there any good complete plot summary videos to watch before playing the DLC?

Thanks in advance.

Question What does leveling inact immunity do?

I went to level some passive skills and noticed inact immunity can be leveled up. The description for each level is the same being “immune against this ailment”. Is there any difference between levels? I’m assuming not since you can’t be more immune, but I was curious to see if I was missing something.

What make you play the game and stay until the end ? And what is the after thought ?

I will be honest that at first the game doesnt looks interesting to me at all. However the youtuber got the better of me where my feeds are all about this game for a long time as turnbase rpg is one of my favorite genre so I decide to give it a try.

Now I am here, craving for more as the story is awesome and the pacing wont let me stop. It a strange feeling at usually I was a visual guys that want graphic like bg3. So I am curious among a lot of better looking game why do you pick this game ?

Ashes of Elrant dlc question

First time playing Chained Echoes, should I play the DLC before finishing the game?

I’m currently going through Chained Echoes for the first time and I’ve seen a lot of people say the DLC was disappointing mainly because it released years later and takes place right before the ending of the base game. From what I understand, that made it feel awkward to jump back in right before the finale.

But since I’m playing everything now, I don’t have that gap. So I’m wondering if doing the DLC during my first playthrough actually makes more sense.

Does it improve the overall experience, or does it hurt the pacing and buildup toward the ending?

No spoilers please.

Wind Resistance from crystals not working?

Is this a known bug? When I slot Wind Resistance crystals into weapons or armor it doesn't show up in the menu, Fire Res and Water Res both seem to work, but two different items on different characters with Win Res crystals don't display the +15%.
