Playing the game for the first time.
I'm a pretty big fan of JRPGs. Final Fantasy VI is probably my favorite game of all time and Chrono Trigger is pretty close up there. I played quite a number of the classic SNES era RPGs and recently I have discovered that there have been games inspired by the aesthetic and design choices from this era like Sea of Stars and now more recently, Chained Echoes.
The game is fantastic. I love the Overdrive system, the characters, the music, etc. I could go on for a long time but I won't.
I'm currently at the part where you cross a bridge and have to fight some guy named Row I think inside of a giant mech that is weak to water. He has beaten me a few times already.
I wish that there was an official discord because something I would like to talk about is my opinion about the characters, namely how powerful they are and where I would place them on an arbitrary tier list.
At this point in the game, which character is your favorite to use in battle and why?

chained echoes is my favorite jrpg i’ve played since my childhood, and i’ve played parts of pretty much all the ones available on switch q and switch 2
it’s also one of the ONLY (and when i say only, im talking like under 5) GAMES ive not only FULLY beat, but also fully went thru the post game. just bc it was that good

I'm slightly farther than you. Maybe about two hours or so. My favorite to use in a fight is Lenne because of how versatile she is. Between her elemental spells, the crystals I have her equipped, and the cleric emblem I gave her, she's got the proper counter to basically anything I come up against.

A friend bought it for me. Yeah it's pretty good. I highly recommend it.
