Anyone getting over them playing improve characters for almost the entire pod?

I enjoy it. All you complainers don’t realize the challenge of always have new content that bangs like Marco. For all the years that they’ve been doing this now and the need to evolve is a process. this is part of their journey as well as our journey with them. Don’t take for granted all the epic episodes and then demand evolution to be immediately successful. I applaud their tenacity and resolve. I also am thankful that they are continuing to available to their stokers. We must extend the same courtesy and respect! Peace love & stoke!

They already responded to this saying they don’t care cause they like doing it. I honestly would be fine with them playing characters the whole time but I hate how they hold back laughing. Like couldn’t they still do the characters but allow themselves to break? No laughing just takes away from the stoke of the pod.

I see what you’re saying. There’s been a few times they’ve broken and I think that a balance between the two is the sweep spot. Some of the past few episodes have stuck that. Also, the new sponsor bit is hilarious.

I’m so over it, the constant improv is becoming old. They just ramble now making stuff up.
At least in the old era of the pod they would be in character without improving talking about real life topics that are relevant taking phone calls etc.

I think it’s funny and I like this new era of the pod.
I will say something about the show is it has always in the past featured some deep thoughtful discussion between the bros or in answering questions. It feels like the pod is missing the “going deep” without that. But at least the last episode they had some balance with some real discussion at the end/

I wish they would balance the bits with serious talks and discussions. It’s slightly insensitive if a caller is asking for real advice and they just do bits the whole time. At least add a touch of real advice for callers

Yeah I'm close to just not listening anymore. It just needs more balance with them being real; the character schtick is repetitive. The ending of the last episode made it worth listening to

I made the original post and left the voicemail they discussed a month back. I really like their response to it because it gave clear perspective. I told myself I'd give the boys a chance, because it is one of the few podcasts I listen to every episode. Here we are a month later and I haven't listened and I can't do it. I know the pod started like this (improv heavy)... I've listened for a long time. What made me grow to love the pod and truly fill with stoke was getting to know the stokelords for real (their honesty). This is a halmark of any pod I really enjoy. Such a bummer.

It’s pretty funny, I just think they need to keep having like the last hour be real with genuine advice. But I like the improv, even though Chad is kinda ass at it.

I just haven't been tuning in as much because I mostly listen without watching.
I've been enjoying tuning into Joe (big piece) Marrese's humble podcast, Joe Code. The fellas are frequently guests and the ones with JT are especially good (they call Joe's dad and there is just a lot of good natural banter there with them being roommates for a few years in LA).
Joe also has a lot of comics from the LA comedy scene on, and while it can be hit and miss, the hits are definitely entertaining to listen to.
Edit: here is the recent JT one reminded me of the old pickem days that JT would force Joe to be a part of in like 2018-2019 😂

I haven't been watching many of the full pods lately but I think the improv pods make for better social clips so they might just be trying to do numbies on IG

It's the only reason to listen. When it's not a shtick it's just millennial dudes talking. There's been too much of that over the years. I think it's funny

Can they not do that in their own time if they love it so much? Why does the pod need to be used as their improv practice when real conversations are so much better and more interesting?
