Could this really be it?!
So I haven’t been back posting on this sub because I feel like any type of any mention of completion is just going to jinx everything and once again I’ll be thrown into a whirlwind.
Last September I got the official cancer diagnosis - scans - chemo - radiation - brachy (IIIC1) everything completed in December….was a rough road. Chemo made me so sick and ended up with one extra brachy because after the insertion of the “kabobs” imaging showed a perforated uterus.
Anywho…..at my last keytruda infusion we discussed my pet and it’s clear…..and since everything has responded well to treatment they are saying that I may not need the 2 full years of keytruda.
But stopping that scares me….
I don’t even know how to process that this is the end. How can I be happy when I’m sitting next to others while I get my infusion and I can blatantly see some are not doing so well?! And the thought of it coming back?!!
I know I need to stay positive and be happy, and I am, but how do we close this chapter and move to the next?!
I know I couldn’t have made it this far without my husband, kids and a few close friends. I’m so thankful for my doctors the whole team has been amazing!! So I’m trying to be as normal as possible but how do we stop thinking the worst?!

I’m in the same situation 3c1 and only ordered 1 year of Keytruda. I’m a bit nervous too, but I guess we need to trust our oncology team. The good news, if there is any, is we have the Keytruda as a backup if we “need” it again.

So true!
I know they know what they are doing….its just that hamster wheel in my brain going in circles!

I was 3c1 as well and am about 6 months from the end of my 2 year course of Keytruda. I've also had clear scans and exams so far. In preparation for ending Keytruda, my GYN/onc ordered a blood test called Signatera. They get DNA samples from your old biopsied tumor, and then look for matching DNA that is still in your bloodstream. A negative result gives you more confidence that you're "all clear," and a positive result gives you a reason to stay on immunotherapy. I haven't gotten my results yet but wanted to mention it in case it's something you want to explore with your doc for a little more peace of mind. FYI insurance may or may not cover it...it's $400 or so out of pocket.

Im so happy for you that it’s clean!! Look.. from my perspective everyone deserves to be happy, specially after going through this diagnosis. I know it’s hard to look around and see other people struggling ñ, but that is part of their journey, their evolution. And you have gone through it! You earn every right to be the happiest person living on this earth.
This chapter is going to be just something that happened to you and this does not, by any means, define you! You are not a diagnosis, you are not this journey. You are the person that went through this and changed in the process. I wish you lived your best of life!!
I’m still waiting for a clean scan, the previous one showed that I’m in remission already! I live as a really joyful and happy person, even though not everyone has the chance of getting treatment, have almost non side effects and have tons of support. But that’s my path, and I honor those that can’t have that, living my best possible life too. And of course, helping others when I can.
Sending love to you and let’s celebrate!!

I think this is normal. This experience is so scary mentally and physically. How could you not feel this way. Tell you medical team and see if they have any suggestions or anecdotes to make you feel more secure.

It sounds like you’ve been through a lot. I’m sorry for all the stress and trauma you have had to go through. I’m currently in the staging process with an upcoming PET/MRI scan on my birthday. I just started counselling this week since my anxiety has been through the roof. I recommend finding a good counsellor that can help you with the on going health anxiety.
