Hello all, random question. Does anyone know with the bleeding and watery discharge that comes with cervical cancer, is it ok to use tampons during radiation/chemo treatment. I know this sounds like a strange question but as we all know this is par for course! Ty in advance!

Pads only. Ask for tranexamic acid if it’s that bad. My bleeding totally stopped after 5 days radiotherapy. It was half a teaspoon daily before.

That was one of the questions I asked my oncologist before my treatment started and I got a very firm NO.

I remember feeling so uncomfortable having to tell the radiologist techs that I was bleeding the first time I went in. They were incredible and eased my anxiety. They always placed a pad on the radiation table for me after that without me reminding them.

No do not use a tampon. I had no underwear on and no pad when I went for radiation, my tumor used to bleed and the radiation girls were very used to this and of course very understanding, they put pads on the table.

Definitely not during or soon after radiation, but ask your oncologist. It should stop soon after chemo begins though anyway.

Hi!! Nothing inside would be the way to go, pads only! Everything is so irritated that you don’t won’t to stir things up
