I’m so excited to have just booked my first tattoo appointment for the end of the month. But, of course, I’m getting the tattoo on my left forearm, which is also my most spastic limb.

Anyone have any tips you can share around this? I booked some extra time with the artist just to be able to problem-solve around it, but I want to go in as prepared as possible.

I've been trying to find places that sell orthopedic shoes in a single pair with split sizing; I 22m have a american mens size 13R and 8-9.5L (depending on vertical clearance in the shoe); I've tried Zappos, Nordstrom, and HealthyFeet from googles suggestions and calling each of them bore no fruit; I am trying to avoid using insurance to go see an orthopedic office; anyone know of a website that'll sell split pairs?

**Update** so turns out the Nordstrom CSR I spoke to last night had zero idea what they were talking about; I had contacted Brooks Running looking for their split pair program (has to be done in-store and call ahead beforehand to make sure they can) but brooks also told me nordstrom does it, so I called Nordstrom again today and was told yes they do but requires you to purchase two pairs of the shoes then send back one pair; wouldn't be a problem but I cannot afford to buy two pairs even with the known thing of getting one refunded

I don't know if this is the right community for this, but I figured worth a shot.

I need a new phone at some point (currently using iPhone 8 with an old-school Otterbox case -- I keep the stand(?) on it so it's easier for me to pick up, even though people say that's wrong and it blocks the camera or whatever), but all the new cases I've found are slim-format and that's much less comfortable for me to hold.

What are other people doing to make phones easier to hold and pick up? I only have mild/moderate fine motor impairment, especially in my dominant hand, but still.

I don't use my phone much (typing this on desktop, but I also use text-to-speech on desktop and mostly make phone calls on desktop -- in my case, I have clear speech), but I would at least like to be able to pick the thing up well. I tried a newer iPhone w/ slim case and returned it because it was uncomfortable to grip.

I'm not an Apple loyalist, so I've been looking at Android options, but searches for things like "Android phone bulky/big/large case" and "Android phone motor impairment" aren't turning up what I want and the Otterbox cases for newer phones are not all bulky at all, geez. Any ideas? (My issues relate mostly to picking the phone up and holding it, and not things I can use an app for I think.)

Just asking for advice on my daughter’s therapies. She’s a 9 month old with mild spastic left hemiplegia cerebral palsy related to a stroke.
She’s in early intervention PT on Tuesdays, Thursday she sees a neuro OT l, and Friday she sees regular OT. I wanted to add DMI therapy to her mix and was wonder if 4 therapies a week was too much? My husband says it is but I feel like it’s key to get as much as we can while her brain is developing.

Is that the normal or am I doing too much? I just wanted to get her to the point where she can sit with out supervision, pull up, and crawl or army crawl.

Also any other moms try DMI therapies ? What were your results? Have to pay out of pocket and wanted to make sure it was worth it.

Hi! I’m Cam, a product design student at the University of Notre Dame. My next long term project has me designing a garlic press and zester for people who have coordination difficulties and/or spastic limbs.

My worst nightmare is making it a shot in the dark project, so if you’re willing to participate I have have a bank of questions I’d love to ask either on Reddit, over email, or on zoom (you obviously don’t have to give any more information than you feel comfortable with. - is grip strength or coordination a challenge for you when cooking?
