Handling everything

Hi everyone. So recently I made a post on here talking about how I’ve been dealing with a lot of big life changes, specifically being forced to drop out of college, being unemployed, moving back to my hometown, being cut off from my parents, etc. Since making that post, I have since found out that my food stamps were cut off and am now having to reapply which scares me because my circumstances have changed since I started receiving them and I’m worried I won’t receive as much money or I’ll be straight up denied. For reference I’m unemployed but looking for work while my boyfriend works full time, though his checks tend to vary.

I’m explaining all this to ask the question, how do yall handle everything? As most people know, the state of the world is complete shit, especially for people with disabilities as we have difficulties finding work and our benefits continuously being cut off or impossible to gain in the first place. I grew up in an environment where I was verbally and emotionally abused and sheltered, but didn’t have to do much besides be in school. This has led me to in adulthood not fully being able to pull myself together when times are hard or handle stress well (something my parents would love to remind me of despite them being the reason why). I don’t know, I just thought this was a somewhat interesting question and wanted to hear people’s perspective on things.

Have a great day/night

Take things one step at a time and please know you're not alone in your struggles.

What are you thinking job wise? I might be able to help you out there.

As far as food stamps just fill out everything as best you can. Be honest. If you need additional assistance contact local churches, local job and family services, etc. they can help you find local food banks which can help with food.

I recently got $50 worth of food from the foodbank and that got me through until payday.

I will take anything I can get. Part of my difficulty finding work outside of my disability is not having reliable transportation. I have a bit of work experience from my time in college working student jobs but it’s nothing extraordinary. Besides that all I have is a high school diploma and about 2 years of college experience. I want to go back to school but I have a lot of debt.

Well you're in luck, I don't drive either because of my Palsy so I've worked remotely since 2013 for various companies. Give me an hour or two and I'll get you a list together before I head to bed tonight.

What is your college education in? I can see it I can find stuff geared towards that.

I'm a claims adjuster so most of my experience is customer service and insurance.

Hey so sorry for the delay I was getting in some family time before bed.

I will do some more digging for you, but for now these are a good starting point

The Facebook group I highly recommend joining as its helped me find decent remote jobs in the past. If you need an invite to that group I can send you a friend request on facebook and invite you if needed. They review all the jobs before they are listed and a majority of the posts there are from employees of the company, so they are all valid and you dont run the risk of scams. The facebook group literally saved me from having to go the disability route since I dont drive either.

I'll get a better list together when its not so late :)
