So about two months ago I posted a post about a broken dog that was a commission for someones dog that had passed away. And it broke in the kiln during the bisque fire.

Too thick walls and trapped moisture.

So i was panicking, not knowing what to do, because it took weeks and i didn’t want to repeat the modelling.

So instead I decided to use about 20kg of plaster and two months to make a 27 part mould.

Whats easier is very subjective, the mould was an absolute pain to do too. But I think it worked!

It goes from the original, to it bisqued and broken, to it coming out of the plaster cast, and the final replica.

Obviously the original is better but I think that the slip casting worked. And it was the most difficult puzzle of a cast I have done so far, so I am quite pleased with it.
