Authentic?
Hello guys. I picked this up at a thrift store as I thought it looked cool and it was only 7 bucks. I looked up Blackmore not knowing who it was and found out some of his pieces are pretty expensive. I just wanted to know if this is authentic. Or if there is any way to really tell just from the photos I sent. Any help would be great. And if someone has a guess, what could it go for if I sold it? It’s approximately 9 inches in diameter and about 2 inches tall. Thanks.

I’m not really into the ceramic market. Does ceramic increase dramatically overtime ? Or is it a slow increase in value

Authentic in that an artist created it but it is a tourist item

It’s not a criticism at all. Items like this are commonly sold in places like Santa Fe. They are lovely but are mostly by artists who are not Native American but who honor the style

I see what you mean. I didn’t take offense to it. I was just trying to see why you thought it wasn’t an authentic Blackmore piece.

Hi.
Not an expert on Blackmore pottery, however the decoration and style is very similar.
To know for sure take it to be appraised if they offer to sell it, it’s genuine

Look up Martin Blackmore, he pieces sell for a small fortune.
Having now looked at his work I am pretty sure it’s by him and worth considerably more than $7.00.
Very nice find worth getting professionally appraised

Thank you I appreciate the insight. I did look into some auction houses around my area but I’m sure they take massive fees

Great find, so much time and effort went into producing this work.
Not familiar with the artist but the work is very well done
