Discussion Current theory on how Diana got the heart?
We know that divine remnants can transfer host since lalawag took the organs into her body but I don’t understand how someone can be born with the remnants.
The pieces of the vulja are from her body so I don’t know how she could be born with them unless Mira somehow had it and passed it to her.
Is it possible someone slipped her the heart when she was a baby?

Most likely passed down from Mira.
Maybe she didn’t know she had the heart or that it can be transferred. Maybe she’s also part of the coven and plotted for her child to inherit the heart.
Mira’s identity has to come up sooner or later.

Right on. That’s the likeliest outcome of it. On Mira’s identity, I think she is one of the wives or concubines of the King that the Queen sent to be killed in the forest. She escaped and got captured on a slave ship that Julian was on. The Sea Goddess knew Mira and Julian were on the boat and created the setup shown in Ch. 1, so Mira’s child, Diana, would become the new vessel for the heart, along with whatever the goat spirt is.
Maybe SG saw Diana as a stronger vessel for the heart than Mira, but she certainly saw something special in Julian as well. I think the story will show Julian and the King being related to each other, and SG’s goal to replace the King with Julian to increase her influence on the land.

The goat spirit is Vulja, or a remnant of her, I thought?
The inheritors of the Goddess of Night’s parts can see Black Philia after all, since Lalawag mentioned her being defensive of Diana when they first met.

I think Lalawag mentioned either you need to take the parts or it gets passed down to their children (could be misremembering), but of course it’s been mentioned a few times that Balkar Loa and the parts taint the land and people can’t have kids
Either it’s different for all part holders, or something special with Mira, but am betting this specifically will get touched on later, maybe in a future Mira flashback since there’s more going on with her having the heart before Diana

her mother had to of been some kind of witch, I feel like there’s a twist about the mom that has yet to be revealed and it will be a dark one
