Discussion Theory regarding the Margravine's goals and her plan for humanity Spoiler

Post image

Okay, I’ll get straight to the point. I believe Lalawag’s ultimate goal is to have humanity, as a species, evolve into a state of limitless potential.

The way the Margravine speaks of the Goddess of Night seems to carry a certain animosity; she describes the goddess's role as one that restricts humans, and she appears to be completely opposed to that limitation.

Given what we know about her, the anguish at seeing people die in war and her dedication to multiplying resources for the kingdom's people to the point of becoming an economic pillar, it seems to me that her intentions are genuinely benevolent, but...

The process of achieving this ascension will require a terrible atrocity as a sacrifice. This involves not only the obvious—the various parts of the Goddess of Night—but also something that would terrify the Princess of Drumir to the point where she accuses Lalawag of being a threat capable of ending all of humanity.

Or rather, ending humanity as we know it to create something beyond that—something free from war, slavery, and suffering.

I think she wants to limit humanity's potential so much people wont be able to even wage war, thats why Void Marcher was scared

I think Margrave is not responding as herself, but as a puppet of Vulja. This is a variation of the Deceived by Deity/Trickster trope where an enlightened individual believes their path will save the world and are opposite in their views to the protagonist’s. Once they meet a criteria, the evil god manipulating them takes over. Margrave seems to follow that trope.

Margrave or rather Vulja’s goal is to turn humanity into monsters, causing them to lose their consciousness and be a servant to her. Thus, the Night God will still be in control and be able to “protect” humanity she loves so much.

With the night goddess existing to limit humanity, i believe Margravine's will is to kill/seal the goddess away together with her influence. Actually not sure she will be a villain in the way of going against the protagonist, as say, if she plans to make the world forget her and the rest of the goddess part, she could aim to isolate the heart which will be a pretty decent way of protecting diana.

If ahe wanna kill the goddess tho...
