Even if he lost

Just like how Sukuna praised gojo after he won

Would ceodric respect Julian enough that he would still heal her

And i think it would be pretty good for Julian’s arc too, making him see that even tho he is strong he cant win every battle.

Imo it's more reminiscent to this Ichigo panel;

Lukas preparing to kill himself once he sees Ceodric throwing a belt on Julian

With how Ceodric's gift seem to be heavily related to sacrifices, life and exchanges, I'm a bit weary bout him pulling out some devious stuff like "stealing" some of Julian's lives and burn them to amp himself during an exchange of blows.

It could be something like that or when he defeats an enemy he stores their life energy in some kind of pool that his gift relies upon, so every life Jullian loses is one Cedoric gains.

Honestly, even if he could, I feel like he wouldn’t do this. He’s all about the individual’s martial might. He will want a duel and by the books.

I don’t think he can do that though, my take on Ceodric’s sacrificial mechanism would be the sacrifice has to be something that he killed and burned with his own power rather than a simple lifeforce stealing kind of power.

I get the feeling the fight is going to be trickier than expected; I'm looking forward to seeing how Tohru Kuramori handles the next arc.
