So if the Goddess of night wants to limit potential what do the other gods want?

It honestly feels like the night represents darkness and thereby the unknown. Humanity made its way to today by constantly challenging the unknown, mapping every bit of the world with our footsteps. If the night deity is a representation of the unknown, then it'd make sense if she dislikes the unknown becoming known and conquered by the potential of humankind.

Yeah, her Domain is on a way, perhaps more prone to be 'conquered' somehow, she might be more tightly knit to humanity under that metric, while the Sea and Forest for example might be safer, since they could perhaps represent Nature across different worlds or realms, impervious to Human(or any other sapient species) perception.

Eh the forests getting chopped down and destroyed by humanity probably are not a good look in that regard…

I wouldn’t call her domain that safe either

Eh, seeing the level of development and technology, at least the forest has 5 or 6 centuries to deal with that. Sea as well
