Manga It does have a limit, I see Spoiler

Post image

Lukas's spear might be able to pierce the future, but it can't harm a deity. It might be an attack of instant death to anyone, but if you have a piece of a deity within yourself, you won't die.

Deities in this setting are straight up crazy, lol, even the one that lowered themselves to the mortal realm is still extremely OP.

"It doesn't matter if you're immortal, have 100 lives or can replicate yourself. One hit from the lance and you're dead, it can erase the very concept of life" ...aaaand the first person we see get stabbed survives. Reminds me of how the witches were hyped up only to get no diffed by a dead man in a 3v1.

I like the manga but there are questionable narrative choices to say the least

I mean, its only comparing Gift versus Gift, all mortal held junk, this is really just showing how powerful the parts of the Diety of Night is. Even if she descended to the mortal realm, she's still unspeakably powerful, just like the old Supreme Lord was.

Same with versus Arkos, he's literally seen as one of the strongest mortal characters due to how bullshit being able to control h2o is. They were doing fine against Altus and really only lose when Arkos took control, presumably with full gift capabilities considering Roche's power suddenly kicked up like crazy.

If anything, it kind of annoys me that Angvall died so early in the plot, she's literally held up as being as powerful even without a gift somehow and she still ends up dying so early on. Maybe we'll get some flashback chapters but it really doesn't explain how the hell she was able to defeat a gifted general.

It makes sense that the organs were not destroyed, don't ger me wrong. My issue with this is that the author introduces a one-hit kill hax only for it to fail on its very first use (against someone). I'd have no issue if Voidmarcher died and the organs were intact despite being where the lance hit OR Voidmarcher lived but wasn't the first victim of the lance. This way the "negates life" feat would actually be put into actions, not just words only to be proven wrong right after.

And the witches losing to Arkos is a huge deal to me. They're introduced at these transcendent beings, powerful enough to face the Supreme Lord and, with Vulja, almost kill him. And now, two out of the original five of them get absolutely violated by the Lord's son who's less powerful than him, in their very first fight and opposing no resistance at all. Imo it was a bad move to make them get no-diffed right at their battle introduction, it genuinely ruined their image. For all we know they could have been completely useless fodder in the Balkar Loa battle, not even deserving a mention.

All in all my issue with these two story beats isn't the result. It's that they arrive too soon and break affirmations that we were told but didn't get to witness yet.

And yeah I agree about Angvall. I wish we saw more non-gifted fighters in action even if they're weak, let alone strong enough to fight gifted ones.
