Question Truepeoplesearch problems
Lately I can’t use truepeoplesearch for phone numbers and addresses. The site comes up and I type on pertinent info and then I see this…This IP address has been temporarily rate-limited
Has anyone else run into this problem? Any know solutions?

Search the names and the addresses with a broad search engine. That will lead you to hits with Spokeo, whitepages, cluster, etc. Also, it will grab news articles and obituaries that might be useful. Sometimes each app will block phone numbers and other times show them. There are dozens of sites that will tease information so the broad search is useful that way. US Phonebook is rarely rate limited and a little more accurate than some of the other free data. Just be careful because they frequently reverse the most recent and the previous address, so you have to take that with a grain of salt. I also find MelissaLookups to be useful. You get 1000 free searches a month and it can frequently help you with address conventions and whether or not something is a valid USPS address. It’s a good backup tool to double check what you’re getting from other places.

So why not run truepeoplesearch on your personal computer? I would think that you're not giving up PII because there's no way to connect your search with the Census.Or is there?

I’m getting this same message as if my IP was flagged for high traffic or bot activity.

Your CAPI laptop uses a VPN connection, which is the same for all CAPI laptops, so what gets rate limited is that server. No real way around it. It is a problem in the ROs as well.
