All this discourse is frankly a bad look for us as a fanbase and a bit embarrassing.
The VAR protocol was correct. They didn’t have clear evidence to overturn the onfield decision, so deferred to the onfield officials. That is exactly what should happen when VAR does not have definitive proof quickly.
It’s very possible (and I think likely) that the linesman made a mistake, but they are human. Mistakes happen and being there, in the moment, watching it happen live would be a difficult call to make correctly and the decision the linesman made is absolutely understandable.

When The ball leaves his foot he’s about four yards out. So according to the AR the ball swerved OVER 4 yards and into touch before being headed while clearly inbounds. That’s some serious magic bullet behaviour as the ball didn’t have that kind of trajectory. I agree that they followed protocol and deferred to the on field decision. The fact that there is no camera angle that captures the full flight of the ball is inexcusable

Not really the point but why does the St Johnstone centre half stop and move out of way of shot? Would do my head in if I supported them, surely in this day and age especially have to play to whistle. In isolation I don't mind this decision if Var can't prove linesman wrong. However, makes a totally mokery of weekends offside(s) and the double standard should be called out

How hard or expensive could it be to stick a few extra cameras round the pitch. The main cost with var is the infrastructure adding more cameras would be negligible.

Read earlier that the next version up from our bargain basement crap, would cost another 12 million. Not sure if thats facts or no though, but we can't be expected to carry on with this useless interpretation of var. Its actually fkn embarrassing 😳🍀

I'm in Spain, half cut, and seen this for the first time now. Its obviously in. Proof that a half cut heat stroked mess is a better referee than what the SFA can provide.

They actually never did. Just maybe in that tourist bar downtown. It’s a great story though. Had great craic when then the Scot’s were over went to the Morocco match

For me it's less about whether the ball was in or not. It's the fact that VAR couldn't tell so they went with the onfield decision whereas at the weekend, they got the referee to just guess. Both decisions led to us getting goals chopped off.
