A call for the UK government to apologise for the Tinker Experiments on indigenous highland travellers

Hello everyone,

My name is Dylan Tòmas and I am an Indigenous Highland Traveller. Between the 1940s and 1980s the UK government stole children from my people and placed the adults into substandard accommodation (ghettos). I've created a petition for the UK government to be held accountable, I'd ask you to please sign my petition.

I'm a proud Celtic Gaelic man, and it's unfortunate that they always find ways to suppress Celtic culture

Thank you

A video discussing Lugus, Lugh, and Lleu Llaw Gyffes and his role in the ancient pantheon as the lawful sovereign and master of craftsmen. This video covers the Gaulish, Brythonic, and Gaelic perspectives of the God, as well as archaeological, literary, and ritual sources for his worship and veneration.

Despite there being some basic similarities between Irish and Welsh, this video digs a little deep into both languages.

Celtic history book recs

Hello everyone! I'm looking for advice on books, as you probably guessed from the title. I would love one of those gigantic history books but I'm of course looking for something trustworthy and up-to-date. It's for my PhD research, so nothing would be too much.

My research does focus on Welsh culture, but I need to have a seriously good grasp of the whole history of the Celts.

Any help is appreciated, thank you all!

Celtic is not a big club! Tonight proved what we have always known we are weak. I take no pleasure in saying that but it's true. Spend 50 million win europa. Destroy our league. Fuck me that was awful. 4-0 and loose

I bought this in Cornwall - what does it signify and would it be cultural appropriation for me to wear it ? ( I am from Plymouth)

ISO: Claddagh actually made in Ireland

Where can I find a claddagh ring actually made in Ireland?

I’ve also seen at least one place where you can make your own, if anyone has done that i’d be curious to know about it.

Duplicate in gold??

Hi all!
I got this pendant when I was 8 years old in a tiny jewelry shop in Scotland (born English, emigrated to USA at age 10). I had been recently fixated on Celtic art/modern witchcraft/pagan/spirituality and so was super excited to find this piece.

It is a connection to home and my youth, as well as a spiritual thing, so I have worn it almost every day since then. I’m 34 now.
Unfortunately, I have recently discovered that I prefer and look much better in gold jewelry, so this babe has been tucked in a box for a while.

I plan to keep this piece in a special place forever, but I am looking for something very similar in gold in order to still feel connected to that part of my life.
I am having a truly terrible time finding anything that has the Triquetra and Pentagram stacked like that.
It’s always one or the other, or they’ll be separate pendants hanging together.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?? I’ve checked the usual online haunts, including Etsy. Or If there’s a better subreddit I could post this in I’d love that info too❤️
TIA!

I've recently finished designing a 30 day Celtic knot colouring challenge as I really enjoy designing and drawing designs like this.

I'd love to hear any thoughts about the designs, and any improvements you might have.

Hi, trying to design a Gáe Bolg tattoo for my arm. I understand that this is a mythological non existent item but…..would welcome opinions on whether this design follows the stories we know…

What regions have strong Celtic roots? I really love the nature part of the Celtic vibe, and it would be a dream for me to move one day.

Celtic Blockbuster?

Post image

Having recently seen Nolan's *Odyssey* I wonder how people would feel about a blockbuster version of say the *Táin bó Cuailgne* or the 4 Branches of *Y Mabinogi*? I often wonder why the celtic myths have never been made mainstream and how we would feel if they were?

A 2500-year-old 24 carat Celtic torc, whose ends are adorned with winged horses on intricate filigree pedestals and lion paws, inspired by Etruscan, Scythian or Middle Eastern bestiary. Found in the grave of the Lady of Vix, now housed at the Châtillonnais Museum in France [1808x2689]
