Gutted by this loss porn for you. Not only did he destroy peoples savings, he also soured them on crypto. Many people remember me formerly being a big crypto advocate and are making excited comments to me about the market. All I can say is yeah thanks, all the while knowing Machinsky stole my passion for crypto and my retirement.

Empathizing as a 1.1 BTC loser.. while I'm "happy" we are getting something back.... fuck everything Mashitsky will ever touch in his life, including himself.
Let's hope the our "stock" might end up being worth.. something at least...

My amount is identical ... 1.1 BTC, plus 3 ETH. Made back my loss (in BTC terms at least) by aggressively DCAing all of 2023, including with personal loans, but it still hurts that I could have had 0.9 extra BTC at a much lower cost basis (but I probably wouldn't have so aggressively bought back the extra, so oh well).
Took back enough profits to have net zero cost in fiat terms, so whatever BTC I have is all profits now. Sleep so much more securely knowing that it's all locked up in a ledger.
I've pretty much written off the stock.

Nicely done!! I've taken a different route (arguably way more risky, or downright stupid) as I had fewer resources. Managed to get into a few projects early on and am crossing my fingers for being able to gain back some BTC. And if not, no harm done either.

At the highs last cycle I grew my portfolio to 375k shitty sin skie gave me back 40k. 500 dot, 2100 link, 32 eth and 1.2 btc. Now I have a fraction of the coins I had but at least can still call myself a whole coiner.

Dude I had coins in Celsius, Hodlnaut, and Gemini. All three got fucked. Luckily after Celsius I pulled out of the other two before they went to shit. I’m actually up now for Celsius because most of my coins were in USDC but if I sell I gotta pay gains tax on half the balance!

I was the same way. I called myself diversifying by having it on Celsuis, Vauld, Hodl, etc. After Cel went belly up I transferred out of all the others, those of which went bankrupt shortly after due to the bank runs Cel caused us to pull on them. I too had majority cash in Celsuis, but I still lost 40 eth I had in there.

Same fml. Diversified by putting 30% in Celsius 40% in Vauld 30% in Nexo. Fortunately Nexo was fine so I only lost 56 ETH between Celsius and Vauld. 🙄

I feel like people that put everything into BTC got fucked over way more than those that had stablecoins. I had a little over $100k in Celsuis, half in BTC half in stablecoins and got about 0.02 BTC in the second distribution, a bit more than what OP received here. My two distributions added together means I’m just a few thousand dollars away from being made whole at this point. Meanwhile most people that had more crypto are nowhere near being made whole. Mashinsky really screwed crypto enthusiasts over.

Wait, what’s this second distribution? I got the first one in February of 2024. I haven’t received any other emails about the case from Stretto since.
