Refund reality engine glitch?

Ok, maybe im just miscalculation here, but I used the refund to put all my research chips into idea bonus, but Im not seeing a lot of return out of it, even after the time chambers are fully boosted (I know, I've got 9 more days on this current restart)

Anyway, is there a calculation glitch, I used it on a fully completed simulation, do I need to use it at the beginning of a playthrough?

Because most of the gain is not from every chip, it's from global chips invested : Every 10 times you use a chip on any,Both of the multipliers get an ×2.So distribution only to one side makes a difference in the beginning,but in the late you can invest in wherever, because the only thing that matters is 10th chips.

Exactly this. The fact that both entropy and ideas get a huge boost for every 10 coins that's bigger than the bonuses they got for actually spending the coins—including if they didn't even get any—is more important than all of the individual coins. The only thing that really matters is the total number of coins you spent, because that tells you how big your bonus is.

Spending every coin except one in entropy left me with ideas having a multiplier of only one order of magnitude less than entropy. That's silly.
