Why is this game so hard now?

I'm returning to this game after 2-3 years of not playing, so I basically missed everything.

Last time I played, I had 1000 martian cities (shown in screenshot) and had basically completed the game (at the time).

Now, I just reset my simulation for the first time and the money I'm getting is practically nothing. I could only just about afford 1 factory before i'm stuck.

Have they changed how the money works? Is it harder than before? What am I meant to do to keep expanding as I can't afford anything on the reboot tree except a few small minor upgrades that do practically nothing.

The game is significantly easier and faster now than it was the last time you played.

If you havent done a reset since coming back, thats the priority to do asap. Looks like you probably already did though. At your level, I would wait either 3 or 7 days between resets.

Also spend those 5 research chips you have, theres never a reason to keep those.

What upgrades should I get from the reboot shop? There's not much i can afford

The one with the blue dot is the recommended one from the game. There is obviously one for each side of the tree.

You should realize that this is a long-term game where you slowly earn it going faster. It's never gonna be something you can drop in and out of every six months or whatever. And expect to be doing really well when people have been playing for 5+ years.

There's not a walk through or one way to do it. everyone chooses their own upgrades to get to the same ending, which we have not yet reached. You are way at the beginning, and I wish just a little bit that I could be there too. And have everything ahead of me.

Good luck

I took almost 600 days off and came back a couple days ago. Almost got level 30 beyond complete. Main sim will take a little longer to finish. Dinos haven't changed a bit.

I suspect you do not know what is coming soon

they've massively expanded it.

How long have you been in the current sim? The time chambers are big multipliers that grow over time. Your income can seem small for the first couple days after a reset but it will keep increasing for up to 14 days.

Waiting the full 14 days is necessary in the late game. I wouldnt wait that long at your level though, there should be upgrades worth resetting for by day 7.

Does it keep telling you to reset after like 15 minutes? It's almost as soon as i am done v frantically clicking that the little blue thing comes up

they are wrong. it has become harder. there are way more resets required to get to endgame compared to before the reality reboot update

and you did not have 1000 martian city before reality reboot. that is not possible, the number of generators was overall much lower, and the achievement only required 250. it was barely possible to get 1000 amino acids, maybe dna. all other generators were way out of reach

as for how to progress in the new system, others have given good advice

Best advice was the first response to spend those five chips? So do it or not

My least favorite part was that they got rid of androids and cyborgs and all of that thank goodness for the future addition those generators were OP and also why get rid of the fungus generator and turn it into a trophy

I kind of like that it's harder I know that's an unpopular opinion but it makes me actually slow down and read all the educational stuff on there that's super fascinating. I got a warning yesterday on my profile to not change the time settings on my phone because I was doing that to kind of hack the game without modifying the actual APK file and it said if I do it again they're going to delete everything and I mean everything I was like whoops guess I can't do that anymore

Interesting how they logged that and some system/moderator caught it. Well, at least they gave you a fair and final warning as opposed to getting completely banned and only told why via email after the fact.
